  1. Nah Zidane was born in 72 so definitely not Jim's love child unless he went back on a holiday I do see similarities when I watch them though. That Riquelme had a bit of that carefree maestro type of player about him too. Got to love such players. Just seem so naturally gifted. The bold Gazza had it too.
  2. Yeah different times and players. I was brought up to revere Baxters name the most but I think the same as you do about him but with Laudrup. He was on another level to everything else at the time and it looked so easy to him. A bit like Baxter in that way. From what I've seen of Baxter there was a bit of him in Zidane. Had that gallus carefree all to easy can do anything with a ball spirit about him. We didn't play any French teams back then did we. Just thinking there could be something to this theory
  3. Bingo mate. It's that top one. I mistakenly thought it was black and white. Great stuff lads, I appreciate the digging these up. Will need to set some time aside to go through this thread as it's right enjoyable looking at these. Always used to skip this thread too like a silly bastard
  4. That's another cracker at the top there. Aye wish I'd seen the bold Jim and wee Henderson. Was Jim better than Laudrup in your opinion? Suppose it not one for comparisons right enough with playing different positions. Always remember the best bit of skill on my Baxter video as a wean was from Henderson lol. They must have missed so much great stuff because of the lack of TV in them days.
  5. Yeah that's army style discipline. Would put most weddings to shame these days or even funerals
  6. Look at the difference in standards of attire and grooming. Not that long ago but what a difference eh?
  7. That's a belter to be honest. Check the wee boy with the hand out, copper and crowd all laughing, and the team all laughing like they are in the boozer Will be saving this
  8. Its good mate and cheers but it's a different one. Seen it on an Evening Times online celebration of Scottish football or something then could never find it again. Looked on Google images the lot but could never find it. Will use this one too though. Will need to have a good look through this thread as there must be loads of crackers.
  9. Do you get away with the full works then. I'e tried but they all end up trying to be fly and cover my stuff up. Realised it's best just to find shit they'll think is classy, which seems to mean black and white, main stand cross section, and a good looking cunt like Baxter. Out with that it's ornamental crafted things. Your right I need to find one that actually likes football. Don't know if I could be arsed with them talking about the game though as I always find their comments a load of bollocks despite not being sexist. They cheer for the one they fancy I think. Can't win either way with the fuckers
  10. Aye probably was if he thought at Ibrox. I was meaning right now. I'd love a good scrapper to be on the go who was one of us. Would get right behind them.
  11. Longshot I know but does anybody have one of Baxter and the team walking out the tunnel v the scum. Think it was in black in white. Only other picture I don't have that I could have up in the living room without upsetting the cook. She thinks he's a looker
  12. That's what I was always led to believe. I met Watt before at a club I went to for a while as a kid so wondered how good he was. Thought Buchanan may have been better too from the clips I seen. Looked really strong and a natural fighter too. What about them in comparison to Mcguigan as I can remember him. Would be great watching a fight at a tight ground like Ibrox. Shame we don't have a bear that's a good boxer.
  13. Was he really good mate and who was best between him and Buchanan? Before my time and always wondered how they compared to todays lot like Arthur, weird, Harrison, and Burns.
  14. Don't suppose there's anyone on here old enough to have seen him play and give us their thoughts on him? Hope he recovers well and meets a few good bears in his new place.
  15. So now you're admitting he could be good but still moaning. What were you expecting, a 5 million man or something?
  16. Cheer up for fucksake. It's not 1999 anymore and these will undoubtably improve us.
  17. I'm happy with the recruits. At least we know what to expect with them and they know what' expected and the game up here. Not the quality of the past but should improve our options a lot. Just hope we can go on a good run and put some pressure on that lot to see what they are made of.
  18. Dickhead was the same with Scott Allen. Some just can't hide their bitterness. Not even a real fenian either.
  19. Can only assume all those clubs above us would suffer a serious decline in attendances if they lost all their star players, money, and were demoted to the fourth tier. Put us in an exciting league and we'd always be in the top five. We've had more 100 thousand plus games than most of them put together. We just lack a good league, money, star players, and TV promotion or else we'd still be above most of these. Anyone know how the Juventus attendance held up after being put down three divisions? Think PSGs is rotten considering they have such a big city almost to themselves and have bags of money and class players now. Same with Italy having hardly any although it could be due to high unemployment among young people. Think it' always been that way with them though. Big stadiums hardly ever full.
  20. Yeah that's what I read in the article. Strange to give a fitness coach the managers job nowadays. Will laugh if he does well right enough.
  21. Remember all that shite just because he was Portuguese
  22. Best of luck to him. Strange situation that mob have with current Welsh and our former fitness coach Adam Owen being the manager.
  23. Was it mcoist? I can' remember much about us now. Good memory if your were just a kid
