By the time we kick off against Motherwell we'll see a very different side in terms of players and hopefully attitude. Far to early too wave the white flag when most of the new signings have played only a few minutes of football or none at all. No real positives to take from last night but hopefully if one good thing comes of it the players will have been given a severe kick up the arse by that result and they will know the score now. I've seen plenty of gaffers at both sides of the old firm over the years have total shockers early in the season and recover.

Not really the guy failed a drugs test for a banned substance. Yes the circumstances behind that may have been purely innocent and of a medical nature but you must be cleared by the reinvent bodies first to compete which he was not. In any other sport this would be an an automatic DQ no matter if it was innocent or not. If no action is taken then you set a future precedent that anyone who fails a drug test can just use the excuse I had Asthma with no action taken.

Business is business to be honest, yes it's an embarrassing way to get into the next round but we've had plenty of teams over the years who have benefited from things like this so its not unique (Denmark not qualifying for Euro 92 then winning it, the peados have done it not once but twice as well as other teams). If and its a big if this is true then the player should not have been on the park to score that goal his club knew before hand but still played him. At the very least if the guy was not cleared to play it should be a one off game similar to Leeds vs Stuttgart in 92.

Every time a smaller team sets out against us and they are well organised we run out of ideas after 20-25 minutes. Thought 4-2-3-1 might be the way to go this season but now would go back to a traditional 4-4-2. We've zero cutting edge up front and have to make 20 passes to get the ball into the box at times maybe 4-4-2 might help with being a bit more direct.

He's got to get off to a flyer in the league and at least be neck and neck with "them"going into the first old firm game. The one crumb of comfort right now is that was far from the best starting 11 tonight when everyone is fully fit. Pena,Dorrans,Alves,Herrera still to come in plus maybe a few loan deals and or Jamie Walker.

Our use of the loan market over the last few years has been horrendous it's definitely something that needs to be looked at when you look across the city and see how they've used it to their advantage. Dalcio himself looks no better than Harry Forrester maybe worse, daft use of the loan market.

TBH we need a striker more than anything the amount of absolute sitters we've missed over the last 18 months is incredible. Niko heads that ball in from 5 yards out in the first game and the ties over and tonight hit the bar 3 times. Till we get a no-nonsense striker who can hit 20 a season we'll struggle.

Problem with tonight's result is that will probably mean an end to the spending after Dorrans signs then it will be a case of moving 4-5 out then maybe getting a few loan deals in come the end of the window.

Voted stay but only just he's skating on very thin ice. I think the cost of brining in a new manager who will want to sign his own players is probably just too great and unrealistic right now. PC definitely needs to pull his socks up big time as he wont survive another result like that.

Think we definitely need another CB in before the end of the window. As others have said if Cardoso and Alves picked up long term injuries we really have very little quality as backup. Bates to be fair to the guy is only really emergency cover at best. If we do make it to the EL group stage that's a potential 14 European games on top of SPFL and League cup games before Xmas. That's a lot of football to expect the same two CBs to play in every game till then.

Should find a bit more space tomorrow as they have to come out and attack a bit more. Would start Candeias for his pace on the wings and Morelos as he's got a decent record at this type of level, no Waghorn please.
