  1. Ferguson article is full of it. You can argue bad luck losing bates to injury and having to use Cardoso. But the rest is trying to hide the faults in the team and management. I don't think Rodgers is some tactical genius like the Scottish press is trying to make him out to be. But he took a gamble bringing on another striker down at 10 and it paid off. Murty froze on the day and waited until it was too late to make the changes. At 2-2 we should be pressing the advantage. Instead the changes come after they score allowing them to sit back with 10 and flood the box.
  2. Very different situation with Murty. Walter Smith, Guardiola & Zidane all inherited squads who had already been successful and won major trophies. Let's also not forget they had huge transfer budgets to also work with. I believe murty has done very well given the situation he inherited from Pedro. But we need a more experienced manager to take the club forward and push the squad to the next level. I'm all for Murty remaining as a coach in the 1st team set-up.
  3. Been saying the same. Get him in and give murty a job as part of the coaching set-up.
  4. They are brought in to save clubs from relegation then they get the boot. Reading today Hughes is now on his 6th club in the English premiership
  5. Did a cracking job with Leicester and a lot gave him credit for building the team that won the title. Defiantly a good shout. I'd love to see him tear into the Scottish press like he did down in England lol
  6. This is why I've been saying Steve Clarke. He's taken that Kilmarnock Team from bottom of the league to 5th in 5 months. He's showing he can get the better of both the old firm. He also comes with a lot of experience and would be in our price range. Any manager is a gamble but a manager who's showing he can get results in the league and somehow turn Kris Boyd back into a leading goal scorer lessens that gamble.
  7. I've said this on some other threads. We need an experienced manager in the dugout for next season. Murty isn't learning from his mistakes. There's been several games where he waited to long to make the changes and it's cost us points. He's clearly a good coach and motivator. He's got these players playing for him and I would be all for him still being part of a coaching set-up next season. But we need a manager not a coach. We need someone who can make the big calls when necessary and take us to the next level were we can challenge for the title and stop 10.
  8. I think we need the same in a CB. One who can boss/lead the back line and get stuck into challenges. You would have to go back to Weir and Bougherra to find the last time we had a reliable defense partnership.
  9. We recently gave Wes a new contract. I can't see Murty if still in charge next season or Allen looking for a new keeper even know we need one. Center backs will be their main priority. Wes is tied with Aberdeen's Joe Lewis for Clean Sheets on 9. The only other 2 keepers with more in the league is Gordon with 12 and McLaughlin at Hearts with 11. I actually think McLaughlin would be a good shout myself. He's out of contract in the summer and he looked cracking in the hearts game at Ibrox. Just been called up to Scotland as well.
  10. Wes is a good shot stopper but that's it. He's constantly beaten with long range efforts and his positioning is awful. IMO we are not going to challenge for the title without a new and reliable No 1 being signed in the summer. Who would you guys go for as a replacement?
  11. King's idea of a big name manager was approaching mcinnes.
  12. Murty has done an excellent job steadying the ship and clearing up the mess left behind by the Pedro experiment. But he's not the long term solution for us. IMO we need an experienced manager at the helm. Murty can't seem to implement the changes when things aren't going for us in games. The celtic game wasn't the 1st time that he waited too long to make changes and it cost us points. There are options out there but I worry this board don't have the funds or the desire to get them.
  13. I don't think we can wait to see if murty develops into an outstanding manager. We have 3 more seasons to stop 10. IMO we need an experienced manager at the helm who can implement the tactical changes when games aren't going our way. I'm all for Murty remaining as a coach in the 1st team set-up.
  14. Any manager faces criticism after a couple of defeats. It's part and parcel of the Rangers job. We are entering a critical time as next season they are going for 8. I personally don't feel comfortable with a manager still learning his trade. I think Murty has done well to clean up the mess Pedro left behind. But we need an experienced manager now to take club forward.
  15. Mcinness is a bullet dodged. I never understood why our board wanted him when murty was getting the better of him.
  16. He's a Killie Fan. The picture is an interview he did when he was at Chelsea. He wanted to play for celtic true but a move collapsed. If we accepted Kenny Miller back after playing for them, we can accept a guy who wanted to play for them at 1 point. If he can stop 10 in a row the rest is forgotten.
  17. He does look a bit homeless sometimes lol. But I don't agree with this he's not big enough stuff. We hardly had people knocking down the door when we sacked Pedro. We need someone with experience and he's already showing he can get results in Scottish football.
  18. His record in England isn't that bad. He took West Brom to 14 wins a club record in the league. He also managed Reading to a Fa Cup Semi Final. The guy has also shown he can outfox Rodgers at both west brom and Kilmarnock. We should at least be contacting his agent to see if he's interested
  19. Murty isn't going to be good enough long term for us. He's done well to steady the ship after the Pedro disaster but we need an experienced manager if we are going to stop 10. We've seen several games now where he waits until 70 mins before making the subs regardless of how the game is going. It was clear to everyone that Cummings should have been on immediately after the red card. But he waited too late again until we were behind to react. Yes he is still learning but he is repeating the same mistakes. End of the season we need to approach Steve Clarke. He's turned that kilmarnock team around and I feel he can do the same with us.
