Fair enough mate, that’s honestly not how I’d see it. The club takes that risk any time it signs a player on a long term contract. I assume that pre-existing issues were the reason we managed to sign such a promising youngster from England. If we didn’t do our due diligence, or did do it, and decided it was worth the risk, then that’s our problem.

Presumably the guy is spending every day trying to get fit, the idea that he’s sitting on his arse is nonsense. At the point that a doctor says he’ll never play again then yes, we come to an arrangement, but until then we are legally and morally bound to try and get him fit, and to pay him what we agreed to pay him.

It would be like us turning round and ripping up Murphys contract how’s hes injured. It just can’t and shouldn’t work like that.

My biggest fear with the boy is he will likely end up getting fit and playing a blinder for the last 6 months of his contract and then we will end up losing him for nothing!

  2. Would rather have none of them in the squad to be honest. If anything not even because I’m partially anti-Scotland since 2012. But mainly because we are already struggling injury and fatigue wise so rather  they get any chance to rest that they can.

That being said. Jack should be in the squad and it’s an absolute joke that he’s not.

Jack Hendry being in the squad really is perfect proof of all you have to do is play for celtic and you make the squad.

  3. Can’t be arsed reading too many of the negative comments.

We were poor last 20 mins. Tough to take but Motherwell deserved their point.

Biggest thing I’ve noticed from most of the comments having a melt down is that not too many seem to be taking into account that so early in the season we are playing in Europe on the Thursday then tough games like that today. It’s very early days for us and Gerrard.

Couillibaly is a massive loss. Get him fit and that’s a totally different game today.

  4. He’s not good enough for a week in week out player to help us win 55. Simple as that.

That being said he was called upon tonight and didn’t put a foot wrong. He was part of a team that got us a great result away in Europe.

Many former Rangers players can’t say the same.

He has shown that at very least if we are seriously down in numbers he can step in and do a job.

  5. He’s so good!!

Katic was fantastic too! I think even though he’s not at the same level as Goldson yet I think at 21 he still has a lot of learning and bulking up to do!

If we can hold on to these two for another season or two think how good they will be!!

  6. He’s not good enough plain and simple.

But he has to play on Thursday it’s him or Hodson so he wins that battle.

If Gerrard has decided to keep him I can only imagine it’s cause he’s good in the dressing room! If that’s the case then I’m happy for him to be here for as longs as he’s a good influence!

I read a few years ago that Alex Ferguson kept Quintin Fortune at Man U for so long based purely on the fact he was such a good character in the changing room despite the fact he was a bang average footballer.

We have four defenders who it’s already clear we will make a lot of money on.

Thank fuck the days of Rob Kiernan’s, Dom Ball’s and Declan John’s look to be behind us.

Do feel that’s a bit harsh on Declan John to be honest!

We have seen a lot worse players than him in the past 6 years but I get what you are saying!

The fact the Jon Flannigan is potentially taking over Hodsons place as our back up Right/Left back just shows how much stronger our defence has become!

  8. He’s a great young talent. He is being used exactly how young talent should be used. He’s in the squad getting a bit of game time.

Only reason it feels like he’s been put in the shadows is because we were so shit last season that he was seen as a key player which probably didn’t help his development.

He was a lamb to the slaughter against the beasts when Murty put him at Centre back alongside Martin.
