  1. The sheep took passive football to a new level today, barely a tackle made all day and sat off them from start to finish You can rest assured they'll be flying into tackles like man possessed on Tuesday
  2. Agree Not sure we should pay anything for Sands as, even on a free, he'd eat up a decent wage and I struggle to see where he fits in Tillman at £4,5m is a no brainer, even at £6m he'd be a decent shout
  3. 100% He's also been played out of position on the right wing in some of our biggest games this season which was poor management Flair players, even vastly experienced ones with great careers, are regularly described as lazy, disinterested etc and some fans appreciate the grafters more on the basis of effort. We need both and tbf Tillman's workrate is nowhere near as bad as made out - like Aribo he has a languid style but regularly gets a long leg or a toe win the ball The £6m seems to be accepted as the fee required for him but I'm not sure where that's come from or how accurate it is - or was it some journalist who plucked it out his arse and it's stuck Hagi had an option to buy at £4.5m which we negotiated down to £3m over 3 years - a similar deal for between £4m to £6m for Tillman would be good business imo
  4. Naw? Really? just as well you’re here to keep me right
  5. Not Jack, not Scottish according to Beale Lundstram is the most obvious followed by Alfredo. Don't see Borna or Helander being offered extensions and wouldn't term Hagi as senior at 24 Arfield is Canadian mind you
  6. Cheap excuses? You've lost me here You don't reckon we've had horrendous injuries this season? You reckon the fitness regime has been good? You don't think the poor fitness will have contributed to the injuries? You think Gio played to our strengths this season? You think slow, predictable horseshoe tactics wasn't a problem? You don't think these are the reasons Gio is gone? Btw you never explained how you were going to finance these 11 new players and get rid of all our shit players. To help you, as we're on the UEFA watchlist, the option of the investors plucking another £20 -30m out their arses and adding a further £10m or so a year to the wage bill isn't happening
  7. How would we pay for 11 new first team players and, if we could (we can't btw), would you expect them to hit the ground running? If they're all shite who's going to take them off our hands? If they're all shite how did they win an invincible league, a Scottish Cup and get to a European Final for the 2nd time in 50 years? We've had more injuries than I can recall in 50 years watching us, but notwithstanding that this group have been badly trained from a fitness perspective and badly coached from the perspective of playing to our strengths and everyone knowing their role and being allowed to express themselves We have good enough players to win in Scotland and punch above our level in Europe as we've shown. Playing low energy, predictable , horseshoe football has been the problem Yes we could benefit from some new players, especially ones who suit our new playing style but with key players back fit we have a strong base to build from
  8. Missed that, shame as he's just the type of player we need on the right
  9. Ola Solbaken is out of contract at the end of December
  10. Can you delete this please before Ross Wilson sees it Irresponsible journalism
  11. It's based on fuck all mind you Same as all the knicker wetting about him phoning senior players Based on fuck all
  12. Your accepting a Scotsman article quoting a Daily Mail article, neither of which name any names, as being official proof that Beale is talking to senior players
  13. Yes They had to report on it and pick a candidate to make the headlines - clickbait if you will. The articles beyond the headlines contained little more than words with no direct quotes from anyone and he said she said pish If I was going to speculate to make me look like I knew something then Beale would probably be my go to guess. The alternative would be to print the truth - ie I don't know anything and it could be x,y or z. Not as effective as a headline or clickbait None of them know anything official
  14. The reality is that no cunt in the media has any idea exactly what's going on - as should be the case Have we officially asked for permission to speak to Beale? Not that I'm definitively aware off. We'd be talking to him unofficially and get agreements in principal before approaching QPR (I know that's tapping up but its what happens in the real world either directly or via agents) Dyche or Seoame are free agents and could be getting talked with too - I'd be surprised if we're not talking to more than 1 candidate The papers know hee-haw at this stage
  15. To be fair none of this is on the current commercial dept and it all goes back 10 years to Green, Stockbridge and Ahmad and the various onerous contracts they entered that were designed to benefit them and others rather than Rangers One of these was our retail deal which had to feed many mouths such as the 3 cunts above, Ashley and the "Rangers fan" from Dumbarton who introduced Ashley and has benefitted very tidily ever since. The last consideration was creating revenue for the club, hence we made two pencils and a balloon from retail. They signed this off on a 7 year rolling contract btw Essentially the club was financially and corporately raped for 4 years before King and the 3 bears got control. What they inherited was an absolute shitshow and it has taken the past 6 years and £10s of millions of personal investment to get to where we are now. I for one will always be grateful for what they have done, it chills me to think where we might be without them. Are they perfect? Far from it. Could we have better visionaries and (critically) communicators? Absolutely Can they take us to the next stage/level? Debatable but anyone new coming in (the Americans for example) come with the risk of being charlatans who asset strip and take us right back to square one For me the next move needs to be a freshen up of our executive board, principally Robertson who, for me is weak and lacks presence and Wilson who, despite the record fees, is not performing to the level we need Anyway, on the retail stuff, hindsight is a wonderful thing but if we'd served notice as per the contract we would be free of Ashley soon and would probably have been better or no worse off. King did what he does and ignored a contract and created a proper mess. Someone on Twitter who forecast what was to come 3 years ago posted this summary... I'm sure King was doing what he thought was best, but I'm equally sure he either ignored legal advice or, worse, didn't seek proper advice
  16. Thought that was the case May not necessarily be good news, depending on how solid a case the administrators think they have. At £9.5m we'll probably be one of biggest debtors, if not the biggest.
  17. I believe King worked with James Blair our Company Secretary (formerly Andersen Strathearn) when they messed this up
  18. I believe King worked with James Blair our Company Secretary (formerly Andersen Strathearn) when they messed this up
  19. Bisgrove? He joined the year after this was agreed so no I don't blame him oddly enough. Don't particularly like him but not going to blame him for something he wasn't involved in
  20. I wonder if Dave King will have a lot to say about this? His belief that he is above contractural law has cost us £10s millions He's running his mouth off today about how he would have bankrolled Gerrard when we were maxxed out on UEFA FFP and needed to sell to buy and landed on the UEFA watchlist despite not spending G His handling of our merchandise deals has been absolutely shambolic
  21. I see a parallel between Walter/Souness and Gerrard/Beale Time will tell but my gut tells me that Gerrard will fade out of management and into media even quicker than Souness did. Big name players don't always make great managers. Most people were surprised when Walter got promoted when Souness left and the rest is history. Souness has since lauded Walter as the brains and the man manager. Like Gerrard, Souness attracted some players through his status (Souness moreso as we were shopping in the top end back then) Like players in our price range, none of the managers come without risk He knows the players, they know and like him (unlike Gio?) he knows the club, he knows the league and he obviously loves the club enough to come here having turned down a EPL club in recent weeks We have good players, what we need is a manager who can get the best out of them and get us playing as a team with a recognisable style
