  1. There's been several top performers in Europe, none moreso than Tav McGregor, Bassey, Golson, Balogun, Lundstram, Aribo, Kent, Kamara have all been excellent at times as has Alfredo but he's not carried us ffs
  2. My take is that this is far more about attitude than fitness (although there is an obvious link between the two) For a professional player Alfredo spends too much time in nightclubs and parties. Other, more dedicated professionals seem to agree. When we needed 10 fully focussed players giving 110% on Saturday Alfie not only flung a needless and stupid arm but then smiled and laughed on his way off. After the match it was pretty clear that Tav felt pissed off and (not for the first time) let down A fully focussed Alfredo can be unplayable and our biggest asset. The other side of him is our biggest liability
  3. Does he strip naked and run about grabbing every cunts baws.... worth the watching is big Yogi YogiNowhereNearRangers I say
  4. He wasn't even booked for that
  5. He's not an idiot though, he knows exactly what he's doing This is the same guy who stared straight at Carter Vickers dragging Goldson to the ground at Ibrox and turned his back rather than give a penalty and a second yellow Collum 'knows whats at stake"
  6. Campbell wasn't booked today. He should have been for the foul on Borna but it would have been his first. 2 reds and 2 yellows from 7 fouls is an exceptional return from Father Collum. Goldson's yellow for Boyles dive was another ridiculous call
  7. Lundstram's is a joke, up there with some of Collum's worst and there's plenty to choose from. 9 times out of 10 the Morelos one is a yellow but Collum won't pass up an opportunity like that and sadly Alfredo continues to give them these opportunities. Titles and 10s of millions of pounds swing on these decisions and Collum, Clancy and Walsh between them are worth 5 to 10 points a season for them. The Lundstram red today was pivotal, the Morelos one was an unexpected bonus for WC. As Clancy told the world this time last year "everyone knows what's at stake"
  8. Worryingly there is now one glaring error in this tweet.... FARE will not be focussed on sectarianism, they will be completely focussed on a newly created form of racism - the anti-irish variety The hate filled "call it out" bigots haven't went to the trouble of creating this (complete with husting promises) not to use it Humza, Glasgow Cathcart, Jeanette Findlay, ill Phil etc will be fully co-ordinated with the FARE representatives in real-time and twitter will go into meltdown at the first whisper of f3nian. They used to have to bombard UEFA with letters and phone calls, it's now much quicker and simpler and they will be fully focussed. Racism trumps sectarianism - otherwise they wouldn't have changed course Hopefully we don't give them any ammunition but I have my doubts
  9. Why is it a terrible rule? If the defender hadn't diverted the ball it wouldn't have gone to Alfredo. The ball went to Alfredo from the defender, not Matondo so even if Alfredo was still in an offside position (like Kyogo at Dens Park last season) the goal would stand as it came off a defender (intention plays no part) If it was offside there would be no other discussion taking place in the mhedia today. Sportscene would have spent half the show on it last night.
  10. He wasn't offside, the ball (which was played BACK by Matondo btw) came off a defender and ran to Alfie who scored VAR doesn't chop that off as it's 100% not offside
  11. He missed Tuesday to go to his brother's funeral mate Might be an idea to give the guy a chance..... maybe even go mad and offer him some support
  12. This might sound mad mate, but we still need to pay these guys wages even though we got the for free. Crazy but true
  13. And not fit, as he points out himself
  14. Based on what? That's like saying Bassey won't be starting ahead of Borna this time last year. If, every day at training, he looks stronger, faster, sharper and more talented than Lawrence why do you think Gio's going to pick Lawerence ahead of him? Don't say money, that doesn't add up. Lawrence cost nothing and even if he's on £30k pw (very top end) he'll cost £4.5m over 3 years with little or no sell on value Tillman is likely to cost around that in a fee alone if we trigger our option to buy and then commensurate wages for a £4/5m player therefor he costs more Tillman is 20 though and could make us significant money (even on a buy back to Bayern) - he won't do that if he's not playing and developing Tillman, Sands, Yilmaz, King, Lowry, Matondo, Hagi, McCann, Zukowski etc could be worth anything between £50 - 100m in the next 2/3 years and are central to our business model. They'll all develop at different rates and some may not break through and push on at all If Tillman is better than Lawrence he'll play and rightly so
  15. Difference being that goal was legit, as was ours. Both should have stood
  16. This He actually called him and his captain over and told him to calm down. Even Martindale admitted it should have been a second yellow hence the substitution
  17. Infuriating to think that we were 1-0 and 2-0 up at home to them and ended up dropping 4 points We should have been out of sight by half time on both occasions and that was one of the crucial flaws last season, not being clinical enough in front of goal
  18. This is true The only teams we can play are Kiev / Graz or Monaco / PSV
  19. If Benfica fail to qualify and we qualify we'd jump up to pot 3 which would be huge
  20. Charlie the banger reckons that the team that finished 3rd bottom 52 points adrift and have lost their best 2 players (Ramsey and Ferguson) are looking good to win the League cup over both the teams who won all 3 trophies last season not to mention us losing a major European final on penalties He's always been a clown but he's hitting new levels of fuckwittery now
  21. Katic is poor with the ball and that's why he'll not have a future with us Goldson, Souttar, Davies, Sands and King are all comfortable on the ball as was Bassey Katic, Hellander and Balogun are primarily defenders and less comfortable building the play
  22. An exciting new signing to discuss, but naw lets get negative about one of our own ffs
  23. Half the folk on RM don't rate ANY of our own players
  24. McLaughlin McLaughlin has shown himself to be capable and has, imo, earned the right to be given the chance. That means that we would have needed to have 2 keepers as part of our 17 non home/association trained players - or sign another association trained keeper like Zander Clark, Liam Kelly etc. In this context the extra year for McGregor makes sense as he's every bit as good as any association trained keeper (Craig Gordon may be an exception but is at the same age etc and wouldn't be available anyway) If McLaughlin bombs we need a new number one (or give McCrorie a chance), if he continues to impress we still face the dilemna of adding a second non association trained goalkeeper as part of the 17 or sign an association trained back up. I'd hope for McCrorie to really be pushing McLaughlin this season as I still think there's a potential for him to be the next McGregor but it really needs to happen very soon.
