*****The Official Aberdeen v Rangers Match Thread*****
CoplandRoad83 replied to Craiggybear's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
One team looks like they have the heart, desire and spirit to win a game of football here. The other look like a bunch of passive silent passengers, passing the buck and hoping someone bails them out. -

Scouts suspected he would easily pass a medical so didn't meet our signing criteria. -

The sheep, with a vastly inferior budget and infrastructure, have managed to sign two players who have scored what, 18 goals did they say? For all the money and players we have brought in, when did we get forward players with those numbers (Colak early season form aside)? Recruitment has been shambolic. -

Can't finish and can't defend. A great combination. -
would think Dykes is just lazy journalism. With his history and Beale's. Sounds to me like Beale has a pretty exciting striker from Champiosnhip or somewhere up his sleeve, clos eto being done. Hope so anyway, Dykes would be a squad option, but is absolutely not the goalscorer and mobile type of player we need to lead the line.

So it is. Good shout.

Could see he was annoyed at 2-2 and showed personality to take game by scruff of the neck and make things happen. We've signed too many ppl who crumble with the weight of the shirt and expectation at home, early signs are that he's not one of them. Hopefully he kicks on, think theres more to come

Will get injured for fun up here.

Ross Wilson Joins Nottingham Forest - Confirmed
CoplandRoad83 replied to Canabear's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
He always irritated me and the lack of transfer strategy, narrow market, opportunistic signings I found very frustrating, but last nail on the coffin was his 'Ross Wilson does not sign football players" comment. Whilst true he didn't have the final say, the refusal to accept any responsibility for the failure of a department he oversees, to find a profile of player for the manager, when he has been much lauded for his connections etc, just showed you the sort of careerist, slopey shoulders, charlatan he is. I honestly cringe when clubs start rolling out too much corporate schtick in the guise of modernising/progression. The truth is, the most important person at the club is the manager. He sets the culture, vision and is responsible for the only real barometer of success: winning on the pitch. No amount of boardroom presentations, values/mantras and PowerPoint strategy presentations will ever change that basic fact. -
We have a great track record signings wingers over the last 4/5 years so if this is true then would expect this to be another sure fire hit.

Scottish Media's obsession with Calvin Bassey
CoplandRoad83 replied to Loyal72's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
exact same thing will happen with Morelos btw. Actually, it will be even worse. First hint of a bad/average game and we'll all get the headlines. -
Judging by our record that'll be the last we see of him then. Was good while it lasted.

Cantwell seems a good lad.

Has been a waste of money in all honesty. Flashes but never reliable. No point spending good wages on someone who can't keep fit. We need to stop signing players who have the phrase 'if we can keep him fit' applied. But we don't seem to learn. We don't have the finances to keep gambling on people with known injury issues.

If only we had a fit and in form Jack that we could count on to be fit for an entire season. Makes such a difference to the players around him -

My streams that far behind Tom Lawrence just scored a header. -
Reaping the benefit of that famous player trading model again I see. Two of our previous top assets are likely to walk away for fuck all. We are absolutely terrible at knowing when to move players on and bring in a replacement and evolve the squad. We'll probably sign Tilmann, reject a high bid within two years and let him run down his contract and move back to Bayern for free.

Welcome Back to Rangers, Michael Beale!
CoplandRoad83 replied to Davy Vandenbroucke's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
If he doesn't make big decisions about the squad soon, he'll end up losing his job. 55 aside, too many of these players have shown they can't be relied on consistently to win trophies. Banking on leopards changing their spots isn't wise. Too many have either already peaked for us, lost the hunger, or don't have the killer instinct against them when it matters. We have a bloated imbalanced squad, and theres no point it continuing to spout the rhetoric that its a squad capable of winning the league, when its not. -

Top 10 Players from 'The Journey'?
CoplandRoad83 replied to The Gallant Few Podcast's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
I remember watching the Motherwell play offs in a Supporters pub in London. Was absolutely grim, had some English collegues along as well. probably worst I've felt watching us, and there was quite a bit of competition around that time. -
Problem for me atm is it seems like we are trying too hard to fit similar styles of players in the team. The team needs balance and different options in midfield and attack, rather than everyone coming short and playing intricate passes. We need ppl to run in behind, stretch defences, and take people on as well. And someone who can cover fullbacks and allow them to bomb on. He needs to find the balance, and to be fair, I think he's probably learned a lot from last two games.

Support from this group is unreal. Thank you all. I hope for good news, and the support, particularly one message reduced me to tears. Still time to beat this - but you all are the best fucking fans in the world.
