Maurice Malpas . :scared:

Motherwell's Maurice Malpas insists that his players deserve the credit after he was named the Scottish Premier League's manager of the month.

Malpas's side ended the month losing to First Division St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup but recorded two league wins and a draw.

"It's an old cliche that the manager doesn't do anything apart from pick the team to go on the park," he said.

"It's the players that do everything on the pitch so it is really their award."

Malpas criticised his players for the quarter-final defeat at Fir Park but lauded them for their league form after receiving his Bank of Scotland award.

"As opposed to it being manager of the month, I would prefer it was team of the month," he said.

"The players have have had to work hard after a poor start to the season and, in the last month, they have been excellent.

"In fact, they have been excellent since December.

"In the last month, we've picked up more points than a lot of people were expecting us to, so it is pleasing for them."

2 wins and a draw , and dumped out the cup

From that list WGS deserves it! But maybe since the league is pretty much over (I still have hope  ) they just gave it to the manager of a smaller team, and their probably still pissed off at Wattie leaving the Scotland job.

How the hell did barry not get it this month. He was class all through feb.

they must have felt guilty or sumthing , for not giving it to naka all the other months he SHOULD have won it imo ,only his 2nd time winning in almost 17 months , hes had some blinding months for us imo and not given , one particular month he had something like 9 goal assists and scored 5. and never got it.

even i said above he played well in february , but HAS had better months NOT GIVEN. <cr>

sorry , NAKA has NEVER won it .:lol: jeezo. :scared:

Award first for Naka

Gregor Kyle

IT’S been a long time coming, but Shunsuke Nakamura has claimed his first ever Player of the Month award in Scotland.

Celtic’s Japanese midfielder has been in outstanding form this season as Gordon Strachan’s men have romped to a 19-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premierleague table and progressed to the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

His wonder-strikes against Manchester United at European level have also led to two awards from UEFA.

However, this official recognition has not been forthcoming at domestic level until a series of typically influential displays in February.

The midfielder provided assists in the games against Livingston, Hibs and Inverness Caledonian Thistle and scored another trademark set-piece against Aberdeen in a month which also saw Celtic book their place in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Well Done NAKA (clap) Loooong Overdue.

strachan won it last month.(jan) his 4th consecutive month domestically winning all games ,,

still not gonna keep awarding same people all the time.

GG not to be pedantic here, but what does that sentence actually say, is that 4 months of winning all domestic matches? Or 4 months of winning manager of the month? either way wrong. He has not got manager of the month 4 months in a row and during December you drew 3 matches in the league, so what are you trying to say GG?

It's a curse in the Championship down south! Teams always lose the game after their manager has been voted MOTM.

Fair play to Keano down at Sunderland though, his team managed to avoid such a fate last week.
