ANDYM 0
Was reading that Stanley Mathews guested for Rangers during the war. Trying to think of other good players to have played for the bears, Robbie Fowler is the one who springs to mind. Anyone got other names?

BEE 4,880
Fowler only scored once that game - other scorers were Guivarc'h, McLaren pen and Wallace. Stuart Pearce was on the bench for us that game and Dalglish played for Boro. Gazza scored a penalty for them against us, then played for Rangers the second half. Tumshie 205
I can remember Matthews appearing on a Rangers Gold video talking about the Loving Cup ceremony. He was playing for Stoke at the time and Struth took Rangers down to play in a benefit game for the victims of a mining disaster. Think he said something like it was a priviledge to play against the Rangers
Carsons Army 4,146
Stanley Mathews played for Rangers during the 2nd WW, he was stationed in Clydebank I think with the RAF, He picked up some silverware in one of the regional competitions. I think he also played games for Morton and Stenhousemuir. It used to be a good trivia Question. "Name 2 people who have played for Rangers and then went on to be knighted" the other being AF

Dietspam 733
I remember being told that Michael Owen played for us as a guest at a very young age. I never looked into if it were true or not, but i doubt it is.

djgazbcm 55
WALTER SMITH has come clean and admitted that Glasgow Rangers are looking to sign a winger with the money that has been released by the unfortunate sale of Pedro Mendes... Stanley Mathews has been mentioned by some as theres only a few days left for a quick deal to be done and we are led to believe that the signing of the winger would be a major coup......
