radlord 24
well that depends entirely on how much he plays his PS2 games I guess You probably paid a premium for it mind, and early PS3s has YLOD issues etc, but I guess it's worth it if he uses it a lot
allistera 10
How much you pay?Good think about old ps3's is that they can play ps2 games, unlike the new ones.
j1mgg 3,766
As said, it all depends how much you paidI have an original 60gb one and it is still going strong, i am not sure if these models were less prone to faults or not though.
DinViesel 399
I also have an original 60gb which I bought on release date. No issues.
Stardog 11
Good buy. Your son will want to play other PS2 games when he's older and the PS2 might be busted by then.60GB is enough judging from my 360 which is only ever half-full, and that's with a lot of demos and games installed. bluenose_72 198
I also have an original 60gb PS3, got it over 2 and a half years ago and I'm yet to have a problem with it.
WeeBlue 39
its my boys 8th birthday and he wanted a PS3 ,as he has many PS2 games i got a 2nd hand PS3 60GB split new condition or should i have went for the new model and ditched the ps2 games? ...have i made the right choice? Is the warranty sticker/seal still on the side? Im asking because they're prone to YLOD and can be taken apart and fixed. A ps3 which has been repaired after YLOD usually breaks down again within a few months.I got mine on release date and it packed it in last month, so it lasted ok...... but ive guys on my friends list who are on their 5th, 6th and even 7th 60G ps3. J-Maestro 11,842
Half of the PS3's and 360's that break are due to the way people treat them, keep it ventilated and clean and it should be fine.
