The updated link on the rangers site says any wages form players left will be available to the manager and we will reinvest some of the profit the club made this season and CL money…

Ah, but you heard it here first. :sherlock:

In broad terms, we will invest some Champions League revenue and general profit from this year in the playing squad.

that to me sounds like he will have a budget

I noticed that too, Stu.

Well spotted big man!

Btw Stu, I was at that garage in Drumchapel at the side of the biker bit the other day - not very stretchy pumps and I kept getting petrol on my jeans and hands!

Yer meant to put the nozzle in that hole with the petrol cap on it Boab and no stick it up yer erse ! :sherlock:

Oi you, Fester!

I got charged 26p and 46p aswell as £40, my shit parking meant I had to move the Car 3 times and their short pumps caused this commotion.

Good price though, 117, so going back.

It is good to know that there will be funds available to buy some players.

The question is how much though?

£5million is the number i have heard. I await Boss tho before making a final judgement haha

You said "Spot on again" as if it's a fact.

I believe he will have some sort of budget, which is probably very small, but you can't be sure.

It is a fact. Fact.

The agreed budget is not as much as any of us would like, but it's enough for Walter to feel he can work with. Don't expect massive signings - but even a few signings will be better than the doomsday cuts that some of our organisations' 'spokesmen' have been laughably predicting. Cuts were the only show in town. :craphead:

The amount available to SWS was noted in one of the papers some weeks ago - wey hey, the papers got something right.

Is that £5M?

From what I've heard it is £5m, wages included, for new transfers. The days of Scottish clubs realistically signing players over £2m are long gone without an Arab or Russian sugar daddy.

If a takeover happens and we continue to work to an operating plan assuming no CL qualification we could actually be ahead of every club by next season in terms of finance.

We should never return to the levels of debt we have been in recently.

£5 million; essentially a percentage of the Champions League cash plus any monies recouped from player sales on top.

The papers got the value right after the meeting between Johnston, Smith and the bank.

If £5M is to cover transfer fees and wages it's a pitiful amount. Novo, Beasley and Smith's wages better be available on top of that.

Well we'll have an idea at the end of the transfer window as to the minimum that Walter had to spend. :P

Even though I think it is more than likely more than £5 million, as apparently Walter wasn't happy with this figure, but my understanding, if that is the figure then it is a minimum, on top of that will be the wages already saved and any player that is sold then the money will go directly to Walter to buy new players, and when you think about Walter, if Boogie is sold for example then knowing Walter he will find another player for a fraction of the price that Boogie is sold for.

Realistically, it is my belief that Walter will be looking at the Bosman opportunities as there are a good few players out there where we wouldn't have to pay transfer fees on.
