CELTIC star Efrain Juarez has been booted out of the Mexico national team over a wild after-match party with 15 hookers - including a TRANSVESTITE.

The 22-year-old midfielder was suspended for six months and fined £2,500 by soccer chiefs in the South American country for breaking strict squad rules.

Arsenal striker Carlos Vela was hit with the same penalty.

They were accused of throwing the boozy party after Mexico beat Colombia 1-0 in a friendly earlier this month.

Another 11 stars including Tottenham's Giovani dos Santos, Fulham's Carlos Salcido and West Ham's Pablo Barrera were fined for their roles in the scandal.

Furious bosses launched an investigation after a national scandal developed - with the Mexico players denying paying for the vice girls.

But yesterday Mexican legend Carlos Albert, the nation's most respected TV pundit, said: "The players were cynical and have been proved to be impudent, shameless liars - and stupid too.

"Humans know what is right and what is wrong. The only creatures who don't know that are animals.

"This whole sorry episode has been an embarrassment. There are still some players in Mexico who regard playing for their country as an honour and who love their country.

"Obviously, those players who were banned do not."

The scandal erupted after photos appeared in the Mexican Press of the vice girls leaving the party at the Camino Real hotel ballroom in Monterrey in the early hours of September 8.

Other photographs allegedly show a blonde transvestite called Gema posing with Arsenal striker Carlos Vela.

Soccer officials said Vela and Juarez, who joined Celtic from Mexican side Pumas in the summer, violated requirements that they "conduct themselves with respect and seriousness."

Nestor de la Torre, director of the Mexican national team, spoke of his disgust at his players' behaviour during a news conference on Tuesday.

He said: "They are young, but that doesn't exempt them from responsibility."

Juarez, who has played 24 times for his country, will be unable to play for Mexico until mid-March 2011, missing just one game.

Albert said the punishment was "weak".

Another Mexico legend Cuauhtémoc Blanco, called the bans a "joke".

He said: "These players have been penalised as the federation was under pressure to do something.

"They had to be seen to act.

"I almost laughed when I heard the boys were given a six-month ban. I thought it must be a joke."

De la Torre said the money collected from the fines may go to charity.
