It's ridiculous. We're supposed to believe that Lionel Messi, with his 27 goals in European competition at the age of 23, including a Champions League winning goal against Manchester United, is an untested player because he hasn't played in a league in which Stoke, West Brom and Blackpool are currently in the top half of the table. The back-slapping parochialism of English football culture and the media is embarrassing.It's amazing. The same mentality that caused England to get absolutely dicked on by a bunch of Hungarians in 1953 is still rife today, and is the reason the national team will never amount to anything.
