gersandy 594
Did anyone else see Smiths comments in the record? I always try not to read too much into things i read in the paper. But Wattie coming out with "this might not be my champions league swansong.", makes me suspicious that he could be lined up for Man Utd next season. However strange this may seem, it could be a possibility. Or could he be lined up to help out his old buddy Harry Redknapp when he takes the england job part time? barryh818 7
Id like to see big eck given a shot.I would like to see this aswell, I think they'll defo stick with a British manager. I think Moyes will just edge it coz of the length of time he's been down there
Muff 245
Moyes, O'Neill and Big Eck are nowhere near good enough to take over from Sir Alex Ferguson.
Papa Sasac 164
Utd will get a foreign manager I think. Not one British manager, at the moment, jumps out as Manchester United manager material.

Tristan 11
Man Utd wouldn't put Walter Smith on a shortlist of 20, never mind give him the job
gersandy 594
Whoever follows Ferguson has a difficult job. You've got to think back when he 1st started out at man u, he was close to the sack a couple of times. I think they could do alot worse than smith for a couple of years, or big eck for the long run. martyboy2009 11
A team who've been criticised by their own fans for not winning the CL enough are gonna put WALTER SMITH in charge? Lmao! Av heard it all now.

Irwin Sparkes 97
Some weird suggestions for the Man Utd job in this thread. They're not going to replace Ferguson with an old age pensioner, which is what Walter and Harry Redknapp will be when Fergie retires. And O'Neill? Ffs they guy couldn't even hack it at Aston Villa.
