Jordo 33
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13783154.stmWembley Stadium is the front-runner to be named venue for the 2013 Champions League final by Uefa.European football's governing body will make the decision at an executive committee meeting on Thursday and Wembley, which hosted this year's final in May, is believed to be favourite. It is the Football Association's 150th anniversary in 2013 and it may persuade Uefa to return the game to the stadium.Wembley's hosting of this year's final was a resounding success.Barcelona produced a magnificent performance to beat Premier League champions Manchester United 3-1, inspired by the brilliant Lionel Messi. As well as being a commercial triumph for Uefa, it also proved to be simple in terms of organisation, with no need to book extra marquees for hospitality events or media or any issues about technology. If Wembley is chosen, some tickets are likely to be cheaper in 2013. In April, Uefa president Michel Platini apologised for the high cost of tickets and said they would consider introducing a cheaper category for families for future finals. The cheapest tickets on general sale for the 2011 final were priced at £150 plus a £26 administration fee and the cheapest package for one adult and one child was only available in category two seats costing £338.Platini said then: "It was a mistake, it was not good. But it is not easy to decide the price of the tickets in the Champions League final."Perhaps in the future we have to have another category for families that is less expensive. But if you put those on the black market how much will they cost?"Why would they consider this after it only hosted it this year ? Anniversary or no anniversary, they should have thought of this prior to naming it for this years final.

JamieD 18,941
Doubt it. UEFA isn't in the habit of going out of its way to honour the history of British football.
Dennis 1,011
The champions league final should be at a venue no less than 80,000 final. so that leaves few options.

stuart1994 4,303
2013, if Ukraine has built a good enough stadium for Euro 2012 surely they could one of them in European Cup final 2013? And it takes the Final somewhere different.
Martin Luther 53
Was there any CL fianal at Hampden or Ibrox btw ?Yeah there has been major finals at Hampden but none at Ibrox despite it being a UEFA 5 star stadium long before hampden.Damn those pesky masonic bastards at UEFA and the SFA clear discrimination.Quite clearly a shadowy conspiracy at work.
