Gaz52 11,837
It would make sense to play him in there just now if he's fit, we don't have any other options really, as you say Broadfoot hasn't got it
TravelingWilBEARy 4,319
Weir strolled through 95% of the games last Season - including Europe.
eddierfc 146
He strolled it after one bad game the bastard brigade were out calling for his head. One of the best servants to the club I have seen in my time. Would no doubt walk it again this year !

MCLACHLAN1 49
Weir didn't stroll 95% of the games last season at all ....(In Reality)He is Slow and his distribution is awfulHe should of retired this last campaign..However.... I still love the Guy and he has been a Great Servant to the Club.
GrangemouthRSC 832
Yep agree,he was solid last year and until his performances drop then he should remain in the team.
thebooler 4,509
As much as I like Davie Weir, and I really appreciate everything he's done for our club, I actually feel quite embarrassed at the fact we have a 42 year old Captain at Rangers FC.Just shows how far we've plummeted from the good old days. JackAlex93 11,603
As a poster above said that he feels embarrased that the captain of our great club is at the age of 42! That is pretty embarrasing, also doesnt help when people like robbie savage and the english media laugh at us for that fact! He has been a great servant and great professional but he should have hung up his boots when walter went
JograBear 1,074
Great servant for Rangers but I feel another year was too much for him. I hope it doesn't ruin the fans opinion of him.

He trains harder to keep up a good level of fitness and is positional sense has helped us out quite a few times in the last few seasons. I do think he will find it harder to come back from his latest injury and not playing games every week will probably end his playing career. I hope he stays on as a coach but will probably move back down south to be with his family.
