ScottBF2 3,540
Is it illegal now?Vincent Kompany's red in the Manchester derby was an absolute disgrace, cleanly takes the ball, doesn't touch the player - in fact nowhere near it. Just because his studs were showing it's apparently a dangerous tackle? Absolutely no force behind it, no chance of hurting Nani yet Foy decides to produce the card... worst decision I've ever seen.Add in the booking for Bocanegra today and it looks like whoever's in charge is trying to stamp out tackling in the game. Disgusted by both decisions tbh.
RangersMedia 35,962
Bocanegra's yellow card was unbelievable...couldn't believe it. Cleanest tackle all day!

Creampuff 22,630
Not being funny, but if you go in two-footed with your studs up - you're taking a risk.Does Nani have to stand and take a broken leg for it to be a dangerous challenge? Excellent, strong challenge.
Creampuff 22,630
Kompany went flying in two footed like a complete moron. It might be soft, but it was wreckless and is most certainly a red card under the rules. Bocanegra's yellow was utterly ridiculous.Exactly . Although I dont think it was a red myself. I still think that going in like that runs the risk you will get sent off. At £150k a week the guy should know better. Feet are away from Nani then Kompany traps the ball between his feet.

the goal machine 7,989
It wasn't a red card, no chance. He doesn't go over the top, he cleanly wins the ball and it wasn't dangerous either.

ScottBF2 3,540
If both Nani's feet are planted, that's a leg breaker. It isn't though. It isn't a dangerous tackle in the slightest and Kompany's moving at next to no speed.

Creampuff 22,630
So you think McCulloch should have been sent-off in the Old Firm game? No, because his tackle was studs down, and one footed
Creampuff 22,630
He wins the ball with his right foot and the studs go up after he's won it.The fact only one foot touched the ball doesn't change the fact that he went in with both.He goes in studs up. It wasn't a reckless challenge, very controlled actually, and he won it fairly.
bluemc 308
At most Kompany shouldve had a yellow, but i dont think it was even a foul
Creampuff 22,630
Really? That's not studs down, in my view they're showing and if the ball was not there Kayal would have possibly got a broken ankle. Much worse and dangerous than Kompany's.Then again you blamed Hutton in the other thread. You can't go into a tackle with studs much lower than that. kaiser1041 9,107
Kompany was askin for the ref to make a mistake IMO but it was probably jigs fault
adam2102 662
You can't go into a tackle with studs much lower than that.mccullochs is studs up imo.but just goes to show. just because a tackle is studs up it should not make it a red card (although unfortunately the rules essentially state it is).soon enough this will be a non-contact sport. the goal machine 7,989
McCulloch's was a lot more dangerous than Kompany's despite his studs being lower.

KBOO72 4,752
Terrific tackle . Yet another terrible refereeing decision from the epl . Making the refs professional down there has made no difference to the standard of there reffing imo .
