Madina 3,928
Met him at Anfield earlier in the season, my Dad asked him how he thought we would get on on Sunday (meaning Rangers) and Nigel said "we need Motherwell to get beat", this was when the tims were well behind us, the guy seemed still very fond of us. ayrshireranger 8,448
Not a greatly skilful player, but did the simple things well, like Hurlock.Always gave 100%.His best game?. The 1-0 SC semi vs Celtic (Robertson sent off, Coisty got the winner) in 1992. Spackman had to play 84 mins at centre-half and was immense. He ended up at centre back as well that day. Was the captain as well with Gough injured.

Ger for life 199
Once a Bear, always a Bear. I love his story on Ally's 1st video when he told the tale about Ally arriving late for a function and stating, "I'm sorry Mr Chairman, but this is the earliest I have ever been late." Priceless!! ger50champ 300
He was a Winner when he played for the Rangers.I regard him as a Legend for his part in the early years of nine in a row
WadeWilson 4,670
Seems a good guy. Always remember he was close to getting a cap for Scotland... I don't think he had any family links though. Can't remember what the score was... Just remember Craig Brown (Maybe Roxburgh) was wanting to call him up.
Thermopylae 15,287
I was always a big Spackman fan . He was treated abysmally when they origially wanted him to play for Scotland but withdrew the interest because of the great unwashed. I know there is a gentlemans agreement between the home associations to make it only parents and not grandparents but the whole way it was handled was very shabby
Colonel Mustard 380
Nigel Spackman was an inspired buy for Rangers. As a defensive midfielder, we haven't had many better.Quietly efficient, and as dependable as they come. Consistency personified into the bargain.
sergio 1,199
I was always a big Spackman fan . He was treated abysmally when they origially wanted him to play for Scotland but withdrew the interest because of the great unwashed. I know there is a gentlemans agreement between the home associations to make it only parents and not grandparents but the whole way it was handled was very shabby We'll remembered mate. The plastic paddy's within the Celtic Support, petitioned the SFA complaining that Spackman was English and couldn't play as neither of his parents were Scottish, but his a grandparent was. As you point out, the home nations had the agreement, but the Republic didn't and had a few players that qualified through the grandparents rule. Just goes to show you that even back then, those dirty taig bastards were jealous of us and even went out of the way to harm the Scotland Football Team - but do we really expect anything else from those cunts? bluegecko 306
He was on Talksport yesterday, and it was clear he still had a love for the rangers and expected us to step up today
covbear 61
I don't think I realised just how good he was till he'd left. He never let us down, more than decent player. Here's his goal at the piggery, 2/1/
