Little confirmed in the squad for The Glasgow Derby.

Templeton ahead of schedule and Kane Hemmings back in training.

ALLY McCOIST has been given good news on the injury front as he tries to drive Rangers on in the coming months.

The manager has confirmed that Andy Little is back in the squad for Saturday’s game with Queen’s Park after missing the last six weeks with a foot problem.

He has revealed that David Templeton is likely to be back from his ankle problem ahead of schedule.

And he also has good news in terms of young striker Kane Hemmings who has had a catalogue of injury problems.

McCoist told RangersTV: “Andy Little played 45 minutes in the reserve game during the week and hopefully he will be involved at the weekend.

“Andy was a big loss to us because he had started the season very well and scored a number of goals.

“I watched him in the reserve game and he looked to be in good form and had a few shots at goal so he can come back in now and hopefully he will be fresh and raring to go.

“David Templeton is making good progress too and we hope he is only another couple of weeks’ away.

“It’s a major boost for us if we can get him back a little sooner than we hoped.

“It was a real blow for Temps to suffer the injury in his second game for us and we have had to deal with that.

“He has been working out in the gym and he will be back running in the next couple of days so it looks as though he will be back ahead of schedule which would be great.

“We have some good news on Kane. He went down to see the specialist and he has been given the all-clear on his knee and he can start training again.

“He has had a torrid time of it with knee injuries and I feel for the lad more than anything else.

“However, the positive news is that he can now step up his training.

“He broke into the team last year and scored a good goal in Belfast against Linfield and he is one we have high hopes for.

“The next two or three weeks will be important for him and we hope he comes through.”

Davieeeeee, oh Davie Templeton, oh Davie Templeeeeton's comingggg baaackkk :21: :21:

Excellent news he's ahead of recovery. Another boost.

Great news. Be good to see him bombing up the wing in the light Blue again :21:

Considering our limited options with out-and-out front men. It's also good that Kane is back training.

I'd say our best 11 is something like:

Little McCulloch

Templeton---------------------McKay

Shiels Black

Wallace Cribari Faure Argyriou

Alexander

A few people on here see Shiels at CM. I'm not one of em. Lewis Mac in there for Shiels. And I'd reluctantly play Shiels wide right with McKay on the bench.

Or

Just swap McCulloch and Shiels around?

Is Cribari a better CB than Ross Perry? Admittedly, I've not seen that much of the action this season, but from what I have seen he's not exactly filled me with confidence.

I didn't even notice that. For me we have to be persistent with Ross. I can see him turning into a no nonsense solid CB for us for years, and years to come

Shiels is absoultely not a CM.

Subs--

Sebastian Faure

Kyle Hutton

Fraser Aird

Barrie McKay

Kane Hemmings

Aird & McKay are terrific options to come off the bench to add an extra spark if it's needed and if Shiels, Little or Templeton aren't preforming then they should be in the 1st XI same goes for Hutton in CM ahead of Black and Faure at CB ahead of Perry or Cribari if they aren't preforming.

Ideally I wanted to put Shiels at CAM, but it was difficult to accommodate Little and McCulloch up front, the only places they should be IMO, along with Temps, Mckay, Shiels and Black who I wanted all to be in. I suppose a better way to go could be:

Little McCulloch

Templeton Shiels McKay

Black

Wallace Cribari Faure Argyriou

Alexander

He didn't start great but I can't remember who, one of the last games, he played really well, so I'm hoping he'll turn out to be a good defender for us once he's fully settled.

Good that players are on their way back.

I hope they have been hurting at our performances and results as they've been in recovery and I hope they can do something about our results.

Templeton fills me with positive thoughts though.

I know what you mean. I've found it difficult with 2-3 formations and combinations rattling round my head.

I see Shiels as the 'number 10' too but his form has been to inconsistent to dictate our formation  In regards to Black on his own at DM I don't know. Just doesn't look right. I tell ya its not easy this management lark. Honestly, I'm not entirely sure what we can say our best starting 11 is yet.

Both Wallace and Argyriou seem better suited as wing backs than full backs to me, so maybe:

GK Alexander

LWB Wallace

CB Cribari

CB Faure

CB Perry

RWB Argyriou

LCM Templeton

CM Black

RCM McKay

CF Little

CF Shiels

however, I've not found space for Jig or MacLeod, so fuck knows!

That is Attacking as Fuck! If I saw that 11 on the park

I'd change McKay for Macleod. Shiels for Jig(CF). And have Little as RF and Temps LF. Like a 5-2-3  Now I think just go with 4-4 fucking 2! :D

Whatever way you do it, you're always going to leave a starter out.

Little

Templeton Shiels McKay

Black Hutton

Wallace Cribari Faure Argyriou

Alexander

That's my final, in terms of playing ability although we can hardly leave out Jig!
