Thommo 708
Current laptop keeps overheating and has been very slow for the last few weeks so I'm looking for a new one.I only really use it for FM and browsing the web etc so I don't want to pay over £350.Found these two online but I'm not sure if they would be good enough for FM to run smoothly:http://www.sainsbury...hnav=4294901826http://www.pcworld.c...056519-pdt.htmlThoughts on those and any other recommendations? LeeWallaceRFC 3,920
Asus is most definitely a more trusted brand etc, so would go for them personally but I'm not so sure about Windows 8, the first one still has Windows 7.Windows 8 is brand new and probably wouldn't be very trustworthy, lots of people finding bugs etc, keep getting blue screens. All that pish. I'm not really sure, you'd be best asking someone else.Only thing that puts me off the first one is the brand, has pretty good specs though and would definitely run FM. My current laptop's processor has that speed but it's the Intel Celeron processor which isn't great, so I'm looking for an Intel Core i3 processor which is supposed to be good for FM.I agree with you about the brands, never heard of Medion before but the customer reviews seem decent and it's a pretty good price. Do you think the Asus one would run FM smoothly aswell?

I'm not saying Windows 8 wont be great, just that its an unknown quantity and until its been out for a while, I think its better to stick to what we know works. Bit more than I wanted to pay but again the specs seem pretty good.http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5088711.htm

It also has the Intel HD 4000 graphics card which is better than the Intel HD 3000. Whilst still an on board card it is the superior of all three.
