toolongawake 1,264
I've always presumed that it was Ronald deBoer, we wouldn't have been paying 30k a week back then IMO

MasterD 7,457
Read years ago that it was RDB and Barry Ferguson on £34k a week.
StornowayBlue 630
I'd guess Bazza was on good money, being the Captain

aqualung 126
Didn't Ferguson have a clause in his contract the 2nd time around that his wages had to be on parity with any player who got a bigger contract than him.

BearAbroad 42
Im sure the whole EBT investigation showed that Klos was on mega bucks....Sure I read it was 40k+ a week, which was one if the highest salaries in UK at the time. It is fucking ridiculous to pay a good but not quite world class player that kind of cash in Scotland. Particularly for a keeper in what is really a backwater league. It is symptomatic of the financial highway to hell Murray took us on with his profligate spending "chasing the (his) dream.

aqualung 126
It's a fairly common clause with a lot of players. Messi has it at Barca and supposedly Rooney at Utd. Everyone of those "secret footballer" or "secret football agent" mentions them at a lot of clubs.
Phil 1,150
Wouldn't have been Gazza during 9 in a row, im sure he took a drop in wages to come to us and I don't think many clubs were paying 30k a week back then..

DR say Klos was on a basic Salary of £4.5M To me that suggests 86K/wk?The £4.5m was over 4 and a half years. £20k a week I think basic. Nearly doubled after bonuses and EBT paid. falwheel 222
I heard from a reliable source that some players were on a staggering rate of £16.90 per hour, what with overtime and the bonus scheme they ended taking home clear about £450 pw. lucky bastards, sometimes a wish a wiz talented anaw.
