Hopefully this catches on and stops the game from spiralling out of control! There's no way clubs can keep paying the wages they are without continually fleecing the fans. Not that it will, but if for example Sky went out of business, most of the EPL teams would possibly be on a shoogly peg!

 No, they wouldn't. Sky need the EPL, but the EPL can use any number of companies to pay for their product.

Aye, but they're not going to put the silly money in that Sky are if Sky weren't around, surely? Anyway, what I'm getting at is hopefully with a salary cap, clubs could be more self sustaining, rather than depending on TV money.

All that will happen is the better players leave these clubs earlier to go and make more money elsewhere. A club should be allowed to pay a player what they want as long as the club is run properly and living within it's means.

Also surely newly relegated teams will have an advantage when they have guys on a big wage against teams that have guys on a capped wage.
