ianb1547 3,767 Posted November 1, 2015 Share Posted November 1, 2015 didnt think the handball incident was a penalty...the claim in the 4th minute should have been a penalty....but I think the reason the ref waited (you see him putting the whistle to his mouth) was he was waiting for the linesman to confirm it was a penalty...(maybe ref couldn't fully see the tackle) however, we lost because of not taking chances and poor defending....we will still get automatic promotion this season...that'll do me. Thought it was more of a 50/50 ball and both players reached to make a play with Holt's back to the goal and not in an obvious scoring position. If he had been on the ball and running a the defender, then yes its a penalty.Also, on the handball on Gray (?), his hand was in a natural position and it was more ball to hand instead of handling of the ball. Was an assistant referee this past summer for the US Club U-17 Girls National Championship game and the Boys U18 Semi-Final game. Wouldn't have given a Penalty for either opportunity. thebluedoo 2,652 Posted November 1, 2015 Share Posted November 1, 2015 I blame it on good old fashioned football's unpredictability.Yes we were unlucky not to be awarded the 1st one but all in all it has come down to a lack of clinical finishing.We had created enough chances to win that game, hit the post 3 times and their keeper had a good stop too. We are doing the right things but we Never got the rewards. The style of play we see from Rangers was what most of us wanted.
