Saka has been by far and away the best winger in the league.

Based on what? Wingers are there to score and assist and Salah is far ahead on both, in a team that has been far worse.

He's also completely disappeared in Arsenal's run-in. 1 goal and 1 assist in his last 9 games and that was against the team in 20th.

His form since about early March has been poor.

He’s 6 goals ahead, and equal on assists, considering the league is what is taken into consideration.

He’s struggled badly in a team that’s completely crumbled, won’t argue, Salah was rank rotten until after the World Cup, a good end to the season shouldn’t have him in the team of the season.

Before the World Cup Saka had 4 goals and 6 assists, Salah had 6 goals and 3 assists - so pretty much the same.

Also worth noting only 14 games had been played before the WC, so 2 thirds of the season was after it.

I think Saka's had a great season but the last 9 games is a quarter of the season and to go missing over that long a period can't be ignored. In the second half of the season he's got 6 goals and 3 assists in 17 games, which is hardly TOTS form and only one of those came against a team in the top 10.

Salah's pretty much single-handedly carried a poor Liverpool team on his back.

You do realise also that not only goals and assists are taken into consideration and it’s all round performances?

Not having that would would seriously be having Salah over Saka whatsoever.
