I stand corrected mate. ?

Oh well my attempt to give 1872 some good press out the windie. They just paid the club after all.

Most of the money was raised before Club 1872 even started. The RST made a contribution.

The idea for the room was put forward at a Disability Matter Group meeting by one of the members. The concept was investigated and researched, Sunderland was visited as they had one up and running. The result of the Sunderland visit was that it was decided that their model (basically a corporate box with a couple of toys in it) was not what was needed and other options were explored. Another problem with the Sunderland model is that basically it was the same people getting the use of it week in week out, Rangers want as many families as possible to benefit from it in the hope that those using it will eventually be able to sit in the stands like everyone else and enjoy a relatively normal matchday experience though recognise that this will not be possible in every case.

Eventually the old radio room was identified as the best option and the project grew from there.

Many people were involved in the project and like them or loathe them the fact is Craig Houston and John Brown were among the main drivers of the fundraising that enabled the project to come to fruition. Many of those involved in the conversion of the radio room gave goods or services or even both free and several fans donated equipment.

I'm not aware of any direct involvement of Club 1872 in the project and not aware of them directly providing any funds.

It's been interesting to see the project grow from the initial seed being sown through to the official launch on Monday, it wasn't all plain sailing and there were a few minor setbacks along the way but the determination to see the project through overcame the setbacks.

The Disability Matters Group will now move on to other projects aimed at making the matchday experience for all disabled fans as enjoyable an experience as possible and that requires an awful lot of work but with the will of all those involved and most importantly the will of the Club itself nothing should be insurmountable in achieving that goal.

It's a nice feeling to get that first project under the collective belt.

Well done to all involved, for this groundbreaking addition to the many firsts our great Club have achieved over the years ... It may not be title 55 ... but it must rank just as highly amongst all the parents .... who can now bring their children to Ibrox for them to also enjoy the match day experience with peace of mind that their young ones are professionally catered for.

On a lighter note ... it's also nice to see that Kenny Millar has been kind enough to donate one of his own set of huge balls to the sensory room ..... I expected no less .... :cup:
