We could win 2-0 or 3-1 or the likes with Butland playing okay but hardly 'keeping us in it'. Could also go the other way and they could turn us over. Genuinely have no idea how this game is going to play out, but think it is massive in setting the tone for the rest of the season. If we win it comfortably, then Beale will get everyone back onside. If we get beat, then I think the pressure will really start to mount. They're nowhere near PSV, but even at their very worst (55 season) they still genuinely created chances in the games we beat them in, with McGregor pulling off some unreal saves. They've still mostly got the same treble winning team as last season and have a manager that has proved himself in this fixture. I'm sure they will create chances, Butland will need to be in top form again. Us on the other hand, do we really create that many chances? He needs to win. No if, buts or maybes about it. He's no credit left in the bank.

To put blame solely on the defence is hilarious, same as when people want to put blame on him for defensive fuck ups.
Laudrupsleftfoot 10,949
Growing to love him, and really didn’t want him at first. Was worried about how little football he had played in 2-3 years and how bad he had been towards the end at Stoke. Needn’t have been.

Defence is pish, we don't create anywhere near enough and none of our attacking players have found their feet yet. And despite how shite they've been, it's still mostly the same team, especially attack, that simply walked through this defence, so Butland will need to be on top form for us to get a result.
