Without a 6 in place we are going to look horrendous defensively, no structure in the midfield and two weak defensive full backs are going to leave the CB’s dragged all over the shop.

Not saying he’s any good either though.

Think this is partly why butland has fell off a cliff, he has absolutely no proper defensive structure ahead of him, the best keepers we have ever had, when they were at their very best, had a solid unit in front of them, it gave them confidence and it boosted their game

Yeah the strikers and wingers generally have done their job with pressing. But in the middle we are so far off other teams. The gap between defence and midfield and then attack is a joke too.

He looks very comfortable on the ball, but will have lapses of concentration.

Better CBs have struggled at Parkhead, too early to decide on him. He wasnt helped by a non existent midfield and the full backs and Souttar being woeful, as well as Butland giving them their usual OF gift

Said souttar wouldn't be good enough for us when we signed him, even as a 3rd choice you always run the risk he has a mare in a big game that we've had to throw him into

And this is him with a decent level of match fitness, imagine he was 3rd choice and had to step into a game like yesterday off the back of 4 or 5 weeks on the bench,

Last time we had anywhere near a decent centre half outfit was the title season, goldson, helander and balogun all fit, all good form and high on confidence

I think Clements at fault for not looking at yesterday and thinking we should go with a back 3 in a 3-5-2 or equivalent.

Souttar played best in a back 3 at Hearts, plus it would’ve mean Tav isn’t covering Maeda and gives Jefte some help also.

Midfield stays the same, put Igamane or Danilo up top with Dessers and switch whoever’s knackered at half time.

We don’t have the quality to set up against them with a back 4 consisting of Souttar and Tav. It staggers me that none of Gio, Beale, Clement have realised that we have clears flaws they expose, and adapted in these games to alleviate the pressure.

He was still prone to gifting goals, playing opponents onside and going into his dazed phase during games, basically he looked good clearing crosses into the box when there was no striker there. A back three needs an organiser and two pacy defenders which would rule him out and I think we would still have Tav covering Maeda and Jefte being all over the place.

Nah souttar is the temu harry mcguire, looked good when most of the game he just needs to clear his lines, mark a man etc, but when he's in a team that will have the ball a good amount of time he just switches off and goes into dreamland

Nowhere near good enough for us

But we don't have another option. We've played the same way against them the last dozen games and lost almost all of them the same way.

Our biggest issue against them is the freedom down the wings and the huge gaps in the centre from cutbacks.

A 3/5 at the back would help with that and hopefully cover for some of Souttar's deficiencies.
