The Artist 143
I work and live in Aberdeen. Yday, got a call asking us to go down and install fencing at pittodrie for round 2 generators. As were struggling for staff at the moment (long story) I had to go and help install said fencing.(on another note i couldnt resist going wearing my rangers scarf.lol) i asked the guy there why the need for the generators,he told me its a uefa rule that all floodlights be powered by generators instead of the grid. anyways, just thought it was pretty silly in this country where the grid is probably more reliable than generators!! Bear 25
It's probably something to do with the giant 14ft mouse that lives in Aberdeen and likes to play with on off switches at sub stations. Just a rummor likes.
kplfishtank 4,657
most big ground have their own generators ive repaired a few from football grounds though mainly from english stadia think sheep might just have it as back up or was it for all tv cables
CanadianGer 1
That's the problem with UEFA, the same rules for the UK and Albania Very true. Weren't some CL games in Italy cancelled a few years back when power went out? UEFA are probably scared of losing that TV revenue again.
Bear 25
Could it mabe be something to do with gambling rings?? If they have an onsite Genny they can keep an eye on that a lot easier than taking juice off the grid??????
