papaguy51 912
Am I the only one totally dumbfounded by Avram Grant's refusal to play these two up front together? If I had to pick a perfect strike duo from world football, it wouldn't be far off Anelka and Drogba. I mean, what do they not have? Pace, power, finishing ability, great in the air, can hit one from long range... A wee change to Chelsea's mind numbingly boring system to accomodate these two could be the spark they need for the rest of the season, IMO.

There's no 'foil' within that.

There's no 'foil' within that. They've both got everything though, it's not like Hateley making up for Coisty's lack of height and strength or anything. Surely, two players this good, could work well together?

docspiderman 1,234
Probably something to do with their egos, not sure either could form a real partnership with anyone.
Muff 245
I'd certainly like to see them play together.
Boab 73
But then Avram might need to drop a quality central midfielder?
papaguy51 912
But then Avram might need to drop a quality central midfielder? He has to stop going with 4 CM's in the starting 11, it's boring the fans to tears.
J_RFC87 761
They're both incredible, Chelsea would win the CL with them both up front. Espicially if Man Utd have an off day in the final.
Jeff crap in the head 120
I hope Grant sorts it out and doesnt let those redshite bassa's sneak to the final again.
Muff 245
J. Cole____Lampard____Essien____Malouda ___________Anelka____Drogba__________ or SWP on the right and J. Cole on the left. Essien has been playing at RB aswell so Makelele would come into midfield.

Essien has been playing at RB aswell so Makelele would come into midfield. That's the problem with Chelsea, far too many great midifelders. You're missing out: Ballack SWP Obi mikel Makelele Sidwell Kalou From that midfield, any one would walk into almost any team in the world (excluding Sidwell). Maybe that's why they only play with 1 up front sometimes, and another reason why Shevchenko is being bumped in the summer, as well as probably Pizarro
Jeff crap in the head 120
Sidwell is a really good midfielder
The Lad 0
Chelsea have an outstanding squad.... soon as drogba leaves, anelka and drogba will show their true ability. Drogba is oustanding... but they are both loan strikers... (Although, i always believed shevchenko and drogba would be aperfect foil, given the right amount of time). papaguy51 912
A very old thread this one Eventually, Scolari done it today and they were apparently pretty tasty together.
chris_glasgow 2
give them a few games and they could destroy the epl
rfc_no1fan 13
I dont think it would work as well as you would think it would. They should have signed Robinho, Robinho and Drogba would have been awesome
Goianegra 4,684
The pair dont play too well as a team from what I see. I occationally see them play well together, but Miller + Boyd > Anelka and Drogba
