For christ sake, the guy is carrying an injury but still wants to play for the club he loves until the end of the season before the op. Not great tonight but give the guy credit and also Walter for picking him because of how important he is to the side.

Here we go again with "Hes injured"

He has been extremely poor for ages. Only difference tonight was KT wasnt there to bail him out and Davis had an off night.

Last good game Barry had was against Bremen at Ibrox, he was carrying his "injury" then, but still managed to put it a good performance.

Before that, I couldnt tell you the last time he played well, You expect something from your Captain, but nothing seems to be happening. Doesnt even make up for it with a bit of dig in the middle of the park, Instead he now gets booked for petty things "Kicking the ball away in Lisbon" and now starts a brawl when the final whistle goes, which gets Davie Weir into trouble.

Hes not doing in on the park and his actions are shocking.

I have been saying this for Months.... before he had this so called ankle injury that he is Finished!!!

we should seriously think of cashing in on our highest earner at the Club!

It's a shame that a talent player like Barry legs have gone but it's Football!

He was a passenger yet again tonight, as was his equally undroppable bestest buddy, 'foul against' McCulloch.

When Celtic had us pinned back for a period in the first half, the ball broke to him 25 yards out. He had time to control it and show some leadership and composure, maybe drive forward or pick a pass, start a counter attack.

What does barry do? Leathers the ball up the other end of the park and gives the ball back to Celtic.

Quality.

Yes, of course, Barry's kidding us on. The very fact you put inverted commas around the word injury is a disgrace. How dare anyone have a go at the only truly international class player to ply his trade at the club for years. A man who has put personal glory to one side for this club. A man who has consistently put the needs of Rangers above his physical well-being. Any poster contributing negative posts to this thread should be ashamed of themselves. They are an absolute disgrace. The captain, as much as the whole team, deserves our total support right now. Shame on all of you.

when barry is fit he is the best player at ibrox by a mile.

It seems when he has an off night he is "injured".

Just sell him or release him now. Be gone with him and his "injuries" and build the team around someone with the talent and desire to win things.

Davis.

So are you saying Ferguson is beyond criticism? Because he plays (very poorly) through the pain barrier he is then undroppable?

Obviously the old adage no man is bigger than the club doesn't apply as far as you're concerned.

Garbage. Saying he's beyond criticism and saying he doesn't merit criticism are two different things entirely. Obviously asking the short-termists on this board to take his overall contribution to the club into account is too much to ask for. It's the same mentality that drives the minority which shames us all by booing the team who got the most respectable home result in the UEFA Cup QF on the way to going through.

Then there's also the fact that Ferguson playing with an injury is better than any other midfielder at the club at 100%. Who would you have dropped him for?

Oh, and by the way, as far as I'm concerned, Barry Ferguson is the club.

One starts they all start.

Poor show lads.

He's not had a great season, so? One poor season does not merit all this. The fact that when he doesnt play we are at our poorest proves he gives an awful lot to the team, even if his actual performance isnt great.

I agree Kevin Thomson is a good player, and has out shone barry in terms of performances lately, but if he has a bad year next season is he the next to fall to this treatment? Davis is also a good player, but if he stays next season and has a poor run of games will everyone call for him to be chucked?

Commitment goes a long way at this level. Novo is not the most talented player at Ibrox, but he gives his heart and it lifts everyones game. The exact same can be said for Fergie.
