Is it time FIFA or someone introduced a wage cap to world football. Was thinking the other day when the Shittu deal went west. Would it work? Would there still be this imbalance between all the leagues or is it "fair" that teams like Derby had a bigger wage budget than us last season?

Would something like a wage cap be needed for Rangers to compete in the transfer market against other teams south of the boarder? We could attract players with the club, its traditions, Ibrox and its host of the best fans in the world and CL football rather than how fast we can make the player a fortune.

What you think?

Unworkable idea even before they start.

Inter Milan could - for talking sake - sign Arshavin on the wage cap limit whatever it may be. But, to encourage his signature, they might arrange for him to do, say, marketing work on a separate contract and pay him whatever they liked for that as the contract would have nothing to do with football.

How does it work in the NHL then?
