FlippinEck 3,844
Barcelona were 1-0 down, Messi comes on and within 20 minutes, scores two cracking goals. Marquez and Pique both got sent off at the end. Racing Santander - 1 v 2 - Barcelona. that second goal was just outstanding, saw it on SSN, clearly one of the best players in the world at the moment

TMWWBK 0
Mexico's answer to Claudio Ranieri, Javier Aguirre, gets the tin tack. Talk about a birthday gift. Ex keeper, Abel Resino, will be named as the new coach at 19:00CET. He has little to no managerial experience, but is a lifelong fan and knows the club inside out. Ibroxblue 131
Real Madrid have beaten Racing Santander 1-0 with a fine goal from Higuain. A deserved win though hardly a devastating one. Now it's the Seville derby (Sevilla v Real Betis for the uninitiated). Hot stuff!
TMWWBK 0
Reports suggest that Pedja Mijatovic will be sacked this evening. Halle-fucking-lujuah. Now for Ramon Monchi to replace him. I can but dream.

TMWWBK 0
Is that the Sevilla Sporting Director? Tis' indeed, mate. The cornerstone behind Sevilla. Brought in by the fiscally brilliant Del Nido after they were broke and fresh off of being relegated to the second division in 2000, he virtually turned things around at the Pizjuan single-handidly. First he was told to establish a youth system. He duly done so, bringing through the likes of Jose Reyes, Sergio Ramos, Antonio Puerta, Diego Capel and Jesus Navas. It's academy was nothing before he came, now it's on par with Barca and Madrid's, boasting about 500 players across 30 youth teams. After that, his next job was to sort out the scouting side of things. Building gradually, Monchi started to make more and more contacts. From Brazil, where he pillaged the likes of Luis Fabiano, Dani Alves, Adriano and Luis Fabiano, to Europe, where the likes of Dragutinovic and Maresca were signed. At the current time, Sevilla's network consists of a whopping 700 scouts. It's system is that good that there's been reports of Barca, Chelsea, Madrid and Ajax scouts actually stalking the Sevilla scouts at airports to find out where they're going. Just shows you what a bit of hardwork and forward thinking does. Sevilla were down and outs before he came in, now they're one of the biggest clubs on the planet. Muff 245
Good post, cheers Del Nido is some character - a guy who sticks up for his club and only wants the best. In a way, he reminds me of a smarter more passionate, Jean-Michel Aulas.

CF5LOYAL 0
I remember one of the papers down south done a massive peice on Monchi and how he transformed Sevilla. Wish I new where to find it as it was a cracking read. Went into alot of detail of their scouting network, the youth teams and also the training methods used by Ramos at the time. The same methods that the Spurs players were complaing that left them weak and without energy. Makes me wonder if some of the Spurs players weren't in favour of some serious hard work on the training ground.
