Debt

On the debt - if JJB folds does anyone have an idea of what would happen in terms of monies we are due or have been paid? Would love to see the balance sheet at Ibrox even just to sneak a wee look at the weekly wage bill to see what we are facing for the next few years.

Unless we sell players we will report a debt of at least £30million in the summer...

The failure to qualify for the CL (or even the UEFA Cup) and the questionable dealings in the transfer market will prove extremely problematic for our club.

Rangers entered a 10 year deal with JJB worth 48million quid back in 2006. An initial payment of 18million was made , with subsequent payments of 3million (rising should certain targets be met). Monies received will remain with the Gers an should JJB go into administration, the merchandising rights will revert back to Rangers. Murray said as much at the last AGM i believe.

Here's a reasonably objective overview of the situation -

http://www.football-finances.org.uk/rangers/debt2.htm

It puts the figure at £22 million, but as they say, the worrying thing is that there was no improvement on the debt last season despite having a fantastic year on the pitch so there's some serious cause for concern over what the figure will be at the end of this season.
