lancedeangers1 287
Ok i dont want shot down for my suggestions as im simply a bear with care, who is trying to stimulate a brain storming exercise to find answers and maybe even solutions. Im not affilliated with any supporters groups etc and therefore dont know too much about their relationships with the club, so the first thing i was wondering was - ' Do supporters clubs generate and donate money to the club annually? ' Does anyone think it would be possible for some clubs / organisations or individuals to create an innovative mass fund raising campaign, backed by volunteers and creative marketing? Im thinking of something the likes of which has never been seen in an attempt to help reduce the clubs financial problems. Reading another topic debate got me thinking about this kind of thing. Perhaps this has been done unsuccessfully before ?, or some of you know of other teams supporters who have done this ,i dont know, but what would peoples thoughts be. ( Anyone got Bob geldoffs number ? )
Jimbo. 952
Work on it every day for a couple of months mate, make as many contacts as you can. You MIGHT have enough in the kitty for Hemdani's weekly wage.

I expected replies as such and i accept what your saying, however im fully aware of all the wranglings and mismanagement, but at the end of the day its happened and we are still in this pissy situation moan about it or not. I'd just love to see a scenario where the slate was wiped clean and we could start again from scratch.

You're right we shouldnt, i agree whole heartedly with that. However even given that, if there was something that we could feasibly do to help would you not still do it? Going beyond the call of duty sort of thing.

We're in the middle of a recession and I don't see people being prepared to plunge their cash into a black hole of two incompetents making. It'll just go into the banks or some duds pockets. We'll have to grin and bear it and be thankful timmy isn't 10 points ahead right now. 5 points is most definitely catchable, but we need to develop a stronger mind set imo. Get them pumped for the title and we get automatic qualification while they have to face an EPL or La Liga outfit.

Timmy did it to the tune of something nearing £40 million and yet "some" on here are quick to compare Timmys debt to ours and ask why they are "managed" better. TannochsideBear 355
There is no way a large number of bears would contribute anything more to Murray's ego-trip than we already do. Hence the reason he had to buy almost all of the most recent share issue himself. His football business acumen puts him right up there with the White's and Kelly's from the other side, the only difference being Murray actually has plenty of csh to bale himself out. As soon as Murray has left the building for the last time, come back to me and I will be happy to help.

CanadianGer 1
The share scheme should be reinvigorated. Every other week over 40,000 bears show up at Ibrox. If instead of being fleeced for a burger or coke they invested the same money into the share scheme, there would be well over GBP100,000 collected. By the end of the season, we'd have a couple of million invested in the club. SDM will make that sound like chicken feed in context of the club's expenses but the point of raising the cash would not be to pay wages but instead get a right to vote on how the club is run. The current AGMs are a joke with SDM holding forth as though everyone else had no idea what they were doing.

Gaffbear 4,101
How about employ good youth coaches instead of mates and watch the cream of British talent rise to the top, then we don't need to sign loads. Look at Man Utd,they always have homegrown players in their side and Ferguson spends his entire budget on 1 or 2 players to freshen up. We spent £14m on training and coaching facilities and have Watties mates as coaches..... A clear out from top to bottom and start again...we have no money so we need the youth. Murray said that within 5 years he wanted most of the Rangers team to have come through Murray Park....that was 7 years ago and we have how many starting tonight.???
