bringonthbarca 25
Would Fleck been allowed to take that penalty if Boyd was still on the park? He seemed pretty determined to take it!
Juno 2
He won the penalty, so Mendes (who was going to take it) handed him the ball. But Boyd is the official penalty taker.

Boyd would be throwing left right good nights to take penalties goals is what he's about and he knows if he scores goals no matter how they go in he should be guaranteed a game. ekbear93 3
I don't know if it's just me, but does it look like Mendes is almost like a mentor to Fleck on the park. Seem to work well together.

SuperRangers 2
Boyd wouldve taken it for sure but who wouldve moaned ? As far as im concerned Boydy is the best penalty taker at the club.

He really isn't. It's Whittaker by an absolute mile followed by Mendes.

Boyd's missed about 5 penalties since he became the automated taker. In all honesty, i have absolutely no confidence in him when he steps up. A lot of the time the keeper gets really close to them, although he has admittedly improved recently. Whittaker is a fabulous penalty kick taker. No nerves, composed and usually sticks it to a spot where the keeper would have no chance even if he guessed correctly.

I can only remember him taking penalties in the shoot outs last year, they were good but who knows how he'd do if he took as many as Boyd?

nvager 498
Whittaker is good and surprisingly enough so is Papac. I would imagine Mendes is good to. McGregor saves quite a few too.

I think McGregor's penalty save ratio last season was phenonmenal. Saved one in the first game of this season as well
Garry88 0
If you watch all of Boyds penalties this season, barring his last one which went straight down the middle, every single one of them has been to his left (right of the keeper). Just a matter of time before the keepers start to recognise this. Fortunately he tends to get enough power that even if the keeper guesses right they usually go in, but surely our automatic penalty taker should be able to mix it up a bit more!? He probably can, but, in his pens, its very similar to Albertz, in that, it doesnt seem to matter if the keeper guesses, because the ball is past him due to the power. I do agree about Whittakers pen technique though, surprisingly good
