Mark Warburton insists his Rangers team won't ease off after seeing them open a five-point lead in the Scottish Championship with a 5-0 win over Raith Rovers.

Skipper Lee Wallace scored after just four minutes to open the scoring at Ibrox and that set the tone for an extremely one-sided encounter which the hosts dominated.

James Tavernier added a second before the break before Barrie McKay and Martyn Waghorn rounded off the victory, the latter scoring two penalties.

Rangers are a goal short from an average of four goals a game in their first nine fixtures of the season after finding the net 35 times so far.

Having won all of those matches, Warburton is the first manager of the club to achieve such a lengthy winning sequence at the start of his time in charge.

But rather than bask in the glory of what his players are achieving, he wants them to keep applying pressure on their rivals.

He said: "It is not about the record, it is about the players and about the next game now. That's what we are about, we have to be positive.

"We are at our worst when we slow the ball down and don't be positive in possession so to the last minute of the game we will always be going for more goals.

"We will never take the ball into the corner, ever, or put the ball into row X for the sake of it. It is about being positive and showing good quality. It was a good all-round performance."

Raith manager Ray McKinnon saw his team totally overwhelmed in Glasgow and he believes Rangers are capable of winning every game this season – although he doubts they will.

He said: "If they play like that they can. I don't think they will but if they put in performances like that there is no reason why they can't. Their strength in depth is quite frightening.

"They are a proper outfit, they proved that today. They are an exceptional team. It was a very tough game for us but we will not be judged this season against them."

McKinnon is a bear, he knows the score. If you check out the 1994 cup final when Dundee Utd beat us he swapped into a Rangers shirt and actually went up and collected his medal in it. Apparently he took a lot of crap for it.

Your wires are crossed mate. It was David Hannah. Hoosier and Lawman will know this cos they love coming into Bears Den and spouting their 'knowledge' He signed for ra Sellick soon after hence the stick.
