jcb 1,167
As you say the players will learn more from these games and is another step in the right direction.
Turnberry18 3,204
The experience alone is good for the younger players.

SeparateEntityMyArse 53,723
My initial feeling was one of disappointment as I want every Rangers team winning everything. But on reflection that's probably a wrong way to look at it nowadays. The first team has to always be the priority and if it weakens youth teams with the best players moving up so be it.For the younger age levels it may be harder and less effective to play the same style as MW has the first team playing but again that has to take priority for the good of the players and club longer term rather than than a short term win. It's a hard balance because that winning habit and ethos is vital too.Transitional times for the season ahead at all age levels imo. Thanks for the report Elf, outstanding as always. Gillete 1,338
The English sides are a bit older than our boys also We work it January to december for year groups where they do it August to JulyIt's not an issue from 17s up but it certainly is when it's the junior academy
Elfideldo 4,407
The English sides are a bit older than our boys also We work it January to december for year groups where they do it August to July It's not an issue from 17s up but it certainly is when it's the junior academy The three English sides were "English" Under 16's. Liverpool had two 2001's in their squad. The Rangers squad consisted of seven 1999's and Eleven 2000's, so the age profile would not have been far away from the English teams, maybe slightly older.
