Character

We have none.

Alll these players have varying degrees of ability but none of them have the spine

they were almost all like rabbits in spotlights today. Overawed by the occasion.

i can forgive being outplayed but outfought is unforgivable.

We stood off them the whole match and can't believe that wasn't the tactic but if you are going to play counter attacking football then you have got to work your arse off.

PC needs to find some character because it seems MW stripped the team of it.

Was just not character that was missing. There was no backbone showen by anyone of our players. They let a mediocre legomuncher run about as if he was something special. Then stood off all the other tarrier b####rds as if they were gods. Seen one good tackle by halliday on roberts then nothing. Murty got more from the same players in less time.

We have shown a lack of battle-fever/character/spine/bottle, call it what you will since MW joined the club.   Now that and silky football was fine for the championship but led to many of us being lulled into having false expectations.

This season has demonstrated that even with MW consigned to the history books that our players are not up for the fight.  Wee guys like McKay can be carried if the rest of your team shows and demonstrates it's mettle, we are lacking that in spades.

On the field, we lack leaders and leadership with only our two oldest players able and willing to shout at others around them.

Pedro has spoken about the need to push the high-line and not give the opposition time on the ball, that philosophy was non-evident today as we gave them too much time and too much respect.  In fairness to the manager he has a poor squad to choose from but that does not excuse players not trying to be first to every ball.

I'd try to punt Waghorn, Halliday, Holt, Garner, Forrester, Windass, Crooks and bring in some fresh faces, if not we will never challenge next season.

No guts, no glory just about sums up at the moment as our players are gutless.

The lack of leadership and character was obvious to every last season. Apparently that's the reason we recruited Barton and Hill. That itself was worrying, as Hill was never anywhere close to being a top class centre back in his prime, let alone now.

We've got some decent players, but Warburton and McParland did nothing to address the lack of leadership. And his rotation of the central defence and central midfield positions meant we were never going to build a spine for the team either. (Granted, some of the latter was worsened by injuries.) Senderos and Garner reeked of panic buys, didn't fit our style of play, were being brought in after unsuccessful seasons elsewhere - and even then, we wanted Lescott ahead of Senderos.

As much as I think King and the board have to accept some of the blame, the management team deserve a large part of it. They mismanaged the budget given to them, didn't address the issues that plagued us last season, and their answer to a team without much experience was to bring in past-their-best duds, rather than leaders.

We are crying out for a Stuart McCall or an Ian Ferguson in the midfield.

Pains me to say it but Legomuncher absolutely strolled that game yesterday. Looked totally at ease like he was playing with his mates against a bunch of kids. Anyone that thought he wouldn't be missed is deluded.

Our midfield is absolutely powder puff and as others have said are complete bottle merchants. Hyndman included. None of them have the character to play for this club and that's a shame.
