Compulsive gamblers deserve no sympathy, when you think of how some people in the world are struggling to eat and clothe themselves or even find a place to live, all these cunts can do is greet about their own choices and call it an illness

How anyone can be entertained by it I'll never understand

Its not quite as black and white as you make it out to be.

I would argue he does cheat her of quality time when he's pursuing his selfish habit, gamblers may suffer but the people closest to them suffer deeply too, he may not practice infidelity but he can't give all to her if he has something else close to his heart like that,  it's not a disease, it's a choice.

You sound like the type of cunt that buys your wife flowers when she's not well and writes love poems in her birthday card.

Do you smoke or drink? He doesn't gamble constantly it's his only vice so if you smoke or drink you probably spend more time doing that than he does gambling, but he is definitely addicted.

It's a daily struggle, man v bookie. And I find it very entertaining.

I know that if I spend enough time reading up, looking at racecards and trying to find different angles on things I will win over the long term.

Between the old betting thread and the new one I reckon I've posted about 30-35 horses over the last five years and 20-25 of them have won... at half-decent odds as well. If winning money watching a horse that hasn't been bet into favourite win isn't entertaining, then it's just not for you I suppose.

Probably not, it's just my opinion, I think the guy above is right, Gambling addicts are the most selfish people you'll meet, and Scotland is full of them.

Its a difficult one for me, as iam a gambling addict myself, have been to GA , and haven't placed a bet in 15 months. I understand why you say it's selfish and I agree, because that's how I felt doing it and knowing the amounts I was chucking away could have helped the household. But you convince yourself that you are doing it to win more money to give the household a better living.

I do believe it is an illness, because its something that's a battle every day, even the compulsion to just put a quid or two on it.

I recall his gambling problems being given an expose in the Sunday Mail at the time he was with us - huge casino debts being run up which was causing problems with his relationship with his girlfriend at the time.

Im sure the big rumour was that he was in debt to some "not so nice people" over his gambling and he desperately wanted away from us to run from his problems, still doesn't stop him being an absolute wank of a man
