Also, there are far more people who survived on A LOT less than what Boyd earned at Rangers. The money thing is a bullshit excuse. I'd happily earn 2k a week at Rangers than 20k a week at a club like Boro.

Real played a 4-2-2-2 for most of the season iirc. I think he will be deployed as a midfield partner to Alonso. Possibly give Alonso more of a creative role? Kinda like a deep-lying playmaker.
