  1. The pavillion at Lesser would hold 100 people tops. The place is getting redeveloped so theres no standing on the bankings etc.
  2. Nonsense, whoever told you that is at it. Why would every league game Queen's play at home be at Hampden with the exception of the biggest travelling support to one of their games in decades? The game will be played at Hampden I assure you.
  3. Would be an extraordinary effort to "get one over on us".... What about the seats you can't see because of the TV angle(s)? Fud!
  4. this young lad will be twice the player McCabe will turn out to be....and not just before the "fanboy" left!
  5. Hutton was good, but I do think I'd rather young Macleod in the starting XI ahead of him....and certainly Black also.
  6. Really happy for Ally and the team....been critical and hope this is the first step to making me look like a fanny for questioning him
  7. Absolutely, Really hope we get THEM in the next round and pump them. Anyone know if Queen's Park were the last 3rd division team to beat an spl team (Aberdeen?)...although QP might have been in the 2nd at that time
  8. Said it at the time myself mate (although I hope Fran's ok) Hope we use this as a springboard and I for one can look like a fud for questioning Ally lol
  9. I've been a harsh critic of his so i'd like to be big enough to say his team talk before the match must have been spot on tonight. The boys were hungry and thoroughly deserved the win. Bring on ANYONE in the next round!
  10. I think expanding the league structure through the introduction of a pyramid system, with the addition of "colts" teams is definitely the way forward. Would love to see it happen
  11. Feeling that McCoist isn't up to the job doesn't stop me supporting my team but I just feel that regardless of how difficult it has been, the time he has had has been more than enough to put his own tactical stamp on the team. To clarify, this isn't even some fair weather type thing where i'm happy if we win (well, I'm happy we win,but it doesn't have me backtracking just yet). I think this is a huge, huge opportunity to change the playing ethos at the club and one I don't think we can afford to miss! I should add that yesterday we at least tried to build from the back, which was good to see. If that's a style the gaffer wants to enforce, then he would definitely deserve more time. I'm not a McCoist hater (and I don't think anyone is really, we love the man) and as long as there is signs of trying to change the way we play it shows he has seen not only that there was something wrong, but exactly what element it was - and is trying to fix it.
  12. The SFA rent Hampden from Queen's Park, so, like all SFL League Games, QP keep the profit from the gate.
  13. Because as far as i'm concerned there has been little or no sign of improvement on the pitch. As i've said countless times on here and to friends, I love Ally and appreciate him standing by us but surely we have a right to judge him just as a manager - something he's been doing for over a season.
  14. As soon as you hear the instruction from either Ally to Alexander, or Alexander to the rest of the team to push up to kick long, we know the style that is being worked on. And that has Nothing to do with new players or unfamiliarity (which is ironed out generally to show progression after 5 or so games). Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that by going long we are playing directly into the hands of more physical SFL teams. Thats a dig at the coaching staff btw, no-one else.
  15. Although it's been a hard period, there have also been plenty of games this season and last for Ally to show what he's got as a manager. It was a hard season he had as his debut as a manager, but it was ultimately still a season. Speaking for me only, it's not just something thats come up this season with regard to Ally's suitability. The point swing last season, exits from knock out competitions etc. Anything other than quick in my opinion. While I appreciate the attendence was not as high as previous games, the fans don't pick the team or play the game.
  16. The idea of a fresh coaching staff appeals to be, but don't see why they need experience of playing at the top level?
  17. Agree 100% with this bit, just unsure where we will be in a season if nothing changes (probably division 3).
  18. Could not disagree more with this. The reason so many SPL standard players (and internationalists) agreed to play in division 3 is because it's Rangers....the same reason many ambitious managers would want to come. From what I gather, no one is saying they won't follow or support the team...some, including myself, feel that Ally isn't up to the job. Not based on one off cup games, but based on poor displays over a rather long period of time. Whether the players are traditionally Rangers class isn't really the issue here, they ARE good enough to batter third, second and first division teams and that's the kind of effort I believe Ally needs to be getting out of them.
  19. in my opinion we are hard enough in midfield. What we need is more players who can play with the ball. At the minute we are trying to play teams at their own game (long ball, bully them etc) instead of placing our own marker on the game. If we keep the ball longer in games we don't need to batter teams about as they will be f*cked every time they touch it after chasing it. This is where we need brighter players as well, as we can then hassle them high up the pitch to win it back. Clever ball players over hard men for me please.
  20. Charles Green is fast becoming, in my opinion, the best thing to happen to Rangers in my lifetime. Very impressed and believe our future is secure, something we've not been able to say for some time.
  21. To imply or suggest that anyone who doesn't think Ally is up to the job as manager has forgotten how close we may have come to extinction is ludicrous in my opinion.
  22. I agree that it must be constructive and disrespecting him is out of the question for me. I am also grateful that we have a combative CEO and that Ally himself wants to back us, but give any of us airtime and we'd do the same. We need his efforts on producing a team capable of dominating games, especially at home. It's his job as a manager that's in doubt for me, not the person himself.
  23. I know the situation has been difficult for him and if games were won on character alone we would be fine, but team selection and changes when it's not working wins games and thats the bit he's struggling with. We've had a hell of a time, all of us, but we're still well within our right to demand better. That IS the Rangers way. Again, not saying he should gtf, love the man to bits but he hasn't shown anything as a manager to suggest he's on the right track.
  24. While I agree that Ally has stood by us and deserves a tremendous amount of respect and gratitude for that, we should be able to draw the line between the man and the manager. The man is beyond question a Rangers legend and always will be. He has gone above and beyond to try and hold it together off the pitch when there were so many problems. His job hasn't been an easy one and no other Rangers manager has or probably ever will have to put up with anywhere near what he has. The problem is, his job is to get results on the pitch and that isn't working. Performances have been disgraceful at times and the players must share that burden, but the buck stops with the gaffer. The simple fact of the matter, in my opinion, is that he hasn't done well enough as a manager. I would never tell him to GTF or anything like that as I've too much respect for him as a person but football is results driven and more than that we ourselves deserve to be able to play with a little style. A manager gets the most out of his personnel and although we're thin on the ground, I think we should be seeing much more from what we have. I should add that while I do think a change is needed, while he is here Ally will have my full support whatever team he fields.
