I’ve been lucky enough to have been there 3 times through a friend of mine, The food is excellent, It’s not a massive menu to choose from but it’s all high quality, Things like fillet of beef and Sea bass for the mains, The service is excellent as well, The waiters and waitresses will keep you well watered and will ask you what you want for your half time and full time drink and have it ready for you on your table when you come back in, As well as that you get a pie and a cake at half time and cheese and biscuits and grapes at full time, The doors open 2 hours before the match so plenty of time for a drink with your meal and the bar closes 1 hour after the match, You also get a match day programme on your table when you arrive and there is normally 2 or 3 ex players doing the rounds and happy to have a quick chat and have their photo taken with you if you ask them, The ones I’ve met were Alex Macdonald and Willie Johnston, Marvin Andrews, John Brown and Bobby Russell.

My time at the Blue Sky, it was Big Marv (fuck me still built like a tank) and Jukebox.

The hospitality at Ibrox is absolutely shite.

It’s just a good excuse for guys with businesses’s to write off some of their tax.

Ballsacks, I had hospitality vs Hamburg in the Blue Sky Lounge, could not fault it. Food, service, serving staff. All first class.

All very good points. At some point the entire stadium will be totally unfit for purpose and will need to be rebuilt or moved, main stand facade, marble staircase and all.  It won't last forever and we need to come to terms with it.  I'm not saying knock it all down tomorrow but we need to have a vision and a plan in place at some point.

I don't think these piecemeal upgrades have ever been done with what a late 21st century stadium should be, they've been done 'at the time' for what was needed at that point in time.  Spending millions to have a couple of hundred extra seats and disabled areas directly behind a singing/standing section is just plain stupid too.

There are so many different issues that could be fixed with a proper rebuild.

    Safe standing section, properly positioned.
Segregated away support area and access from bus park
Massive capacity increase to outstrip timmy (exceeding what they could potentially upgrade to if we did it first)
Increased revenue from ST/ticket sales by millions every season
Much greater ticket availability for tourists and occasional purchases
Steeper stands with better view angles and legroom
    Infilled corners
Acoustic design to enhance atmosphere further
    Better concourse facilities
    Better turnstile access
More hospitality and premium seating options
Meet UEFA elite criteria, tunnel access etc
Reduced ongoing maintenance and refurbishment costs

Repay the building costs over time from the extra revenue generated and/or stadium sponsorship while maintaining existing budgets.

    We cannot. Simple as that.

Just seen the news there that the ex rugby league Rob Burrow has died. Just like with Fernando Ricksen and  Doddie Weir it's motor neurone disease that did for him.

Very sad news, deepest condolences to his friends and family

Joost Van Der Westhuisen as well. RIP Rob.

Was listening to a podcast recently about how close Silvio Berlusconi was to stopping Arrigo Sacchi from signing Ancelotti as a player at Milan as he thought Carlo was past it and didn't have a winning mentality due to Roma underperorming, the rest is history. Fantastic man and manager.

Such a great manager, its easy to forget, that he was a top player and part of one of THE great club sides, that late 80s/early 90s Milan team.

Mate where was your ST in 1978?  That was around the time the stadium was getting rebuilt.
I’ve heard people talk about a roaming ST where you could sit anywhere you wanted or was this before the seats went in ?

I got my first ST when Souness  came in 86 Govan rear red section, sure it was called the premiere club or something like that at the time. That’s when Season tickets started selling in big numbers

The Premier Club, Dad and I got our ST's in 1987. Govan Rear.

  7. Happy with that.

Goldson can uck off. Souttar not convinced 100% but give him next season, Davies imo just enough to stay, King has to either go or a loan not good enough imo, but like Dujan might make a better DM. Yfeko has potential imo.

    Still want to us t o get 1/2 CH's, Cordoba and A N Other.

We can trust Shankland at CL and EL level next season? Remind me of his record in those competitions?

Missing my simple point, Shankland takes his chance as soon as it presents itself, Dessers always wants a another touch or three , look at the  many times he could have hit  it first time or taken one touch, that chance at CP wasnt an abberation.

  9. Re Shankland vs Dessers.

We will be playing potentially in the CL next season or at least the EL. Given that he misses more often than he scores, we cannot trust him at that level, with Shankland we can, just as Shankland has to start in the Euros over Dykes or Adams.

In either case, we  will get a small handful of chances, meybe even just 1 or 2with Scotland ,probably 3/4 in the cl with us, and you need someone who can take them and I do not trust Dessers to take those. Either Shankland or a gem picked up by scouting Europe. Dessers at best next season is a 3rd striker with Roofes leaving.
