  1. I also agree that Ellis is a Murray plant. The smart money appears to be the King/Murray/Park consortium. Given that King has traveled from South Africa and Park (who is a tax exile) are both in the country just now adds substance to the fact a bid may be imminent. The fact neither like David Murray could be an obstacle.
  2. Just in from match so haven't seen any of the main issues on television. Talking points 1) Didnt think it a free kick in the first place for their goal 2) Thought Smith was fouled 3) Why was McGeady not booked for hacking down - think it was Miller 4) Why no penalty 5) Did McGeady dive when Lee got sent off Can these points be cleared up Cheers
  3. The "sporting integrity" quote will always come back to haunt Lawwell. You have to remember that this is a club that is rotten to the core. The only two things they ever got right was the appointment of Stein and when wee Fergus took over and look how they treated them. They have never had an innovative idea in their life and have always copied us - looks like they might be doing that financially right now! They have never lost a game - its always been someone else's fault. I could go on but why bother the list is endless - feel free to add to it
  4. The pseudo intellectual today invented a new word. Instead of hilarious we now have - wait for it....... hilerrious And i thought the incoherent Charlie Ridiculous was bad!
  5. you forgot about Eddie Smith at St Mirren or was it Falkirk? That was the season of sporting integrity. Have to add that was a superb post!!
  6. I think he waited to see if we scored otherwise he would have given us a penalty for hand ball against one of their coloured players. Not sure which one it was. It was a definite hand ball as he tried to punch it clear. As an afterthought - should he have been red carded for that?
  7. Left at the final whistle to head for the Airport on route to Cairo. Had a great chat with Arthur Numan on the Amsterdam leg of the journey. He was as happy as me!!! Missed out on all the gloating from us and the meltdown from the Tims. So to catch up was reading online some of the papers. came to Evening Times - not a paper I would normally read - but I want to enjoy yesterday!!! However having read this "reporters. Who is she?" piece I am baffled as to why she could possibly get a position of football scribe in a paper. Writing for the Celtic View would be more appropriate. What an unbalanced piece of rubbish
  8. Since Advocaat was a major reason for us having a training ground and because his teams played the best quality football I have seen from Rangers I would call it The Wee Dick Training Centre. Thats a hair raising name!
  9. Presently overseas and reading about their new signings. I always thought there was a limit on the number of loan signings you can make in a season. I think we suffered a bit when Eck was manager. Can someone confirm what the ruling is. Thanks in advance
  10. I knew the Sharp family well. We tried to sign Graeme but his father stopped the move after Ricky didnt make it. The father blamed Rangers, Graeme has got a touch of the dark side - he married an Anne Marie. Still Ricky went to Sunday School with me
  11. Thought some of you would be interested in this. Presently in Cairo and the big game between Egypt and Algeria is raising some excitement here. Take an old firm game and add about 50%. Government warnings have been that no violence has to take place as relations between the countries are improving. The word here is Boogie will play as "its Egypt" they are playing. Ticket prices range from £30 to £15 Egyptian - divide by 9 to get ticket price. KO is at 7.30. Gates open at 12noon and close at 5.30pm. This city is fairly manic at the best of times but going into overdrive now It also appears that the Algerian team wrecked the team bus just after leaving he airport. Traffic was held up for 2 hours while police investigated. so Saturday looks like a fun evening Both play in green so I dont know who to support
  12. Left uk on Sunday and am currently overseas. You wont like this but prior to leaving i got a text to say the club has been sold. The alleged buyer is JP magner - Coolmore Mafia fame - Fergie tried to sue him and lost. The source is fairly solid - he used to entertain before games
  13. I thought Lee played well second half against stuttgart. The gut is one of us and while he has limitations he gives his all for the club
  14. Look we all know Charlie is not too bright. You do not get the nickname Charlie Ridiculous for nothing. He tries to ingratiate himself to the tims but it doesnt work. He is on Sky Sports for entertainment value - not for anything constructive. Met him a few times in the Blue Nile in the 80's. He is actually ok for a tim
  15. I have been working a lot in Egypt and there is a lot of talent over there. Whether they could cut it in Europe I'm not so sure but the skills are there to be developed. I am also just back from Nigeria and that is a football daft nation and they are all big guys!
  16. Thats the same referee who didnt send McDonald off!!!! what is it with these people?
  17. Given all the rumours going around at the moment, what with Bain going? Murray going? and with Souness in the background - maybe just Souness as CEO and Gough as Manager - I wouldnt fall out with that
  18. Well Eddie Smith would do his best to undermine us!
  19. I have never really been a Scotland fan and dont post too reguraly but it proves Souness was right about Traynor
  20. Out in Cairo and couldnt get anywhere showing the game today and bbc media doesnt work here - any chance someone could post the goals on you tube - cheers in advance
