  1. It is absolutely crazy how long it is since we have had a regular in the left mid or left wing slot. Ever since Walter came back we seem to have tried everyone there and no-one has been able to hold down the position for any spell of games. I am probably missing quite a few but all of these have played at some stage: This season Templeton, Smith, Macleod, Mackay, Little, Crawford Last Season Templeton, Mackay, Aird, Shiels 2011 Ortiz, Bedoya, Wylde, Papac, Wallace, McKay, Celik, Naismith, Aluko, Kerkar Previous seasons Whittaker, Miller, Lafferty, Weiss, Diouf, Fleck, Adam, Rothen, Gow, Novo, Beasley, McCulloch, Aaron
  2. It was utterly pointless playing Alexander for the last 4/5 games after the league was won and knowing that Bell would only be able to play three times as a trialist. What harm would it done to have given one of the sub keepers a run out?
  3. There are much better players for that money but his agent, Jorge Mendes, is also Jose Mourinho's agent and he has bought several players before for huge money that were represented by Mendes. Mendes has already moved 3 of his players on to Monaco this summer though for over £100m in transfer fees. They are rumoured to be interested in Matic too so the whole story could possibly just be Jose doing his agent a favour and trying to increase his price or to speed up Monaco's interest in him.
  4. I would have agreed up to a few weeks ago. I personally don't think he showed enough when the biggest challenge came though.
  5. Surely it is the Chief Executive's duty to look after the best interests of the company and it's members? Allowing a vote before doing due diligence is irresponsible.
  6. Everyone one of us can see the SPL for exactly what it is but he was unable to convince his member clubs that they were signing up to join a corrupt regime on the verge of bankruptcy, with millions of potential liabilities from law suits and no sponsor for next year without even doing proper independent due diligence? I would want far more from anyone to warrant a place on our board.
  7. He let the SPL bully his organisation and take over yesterday. What would stop that happening again if was at Rangers?
  8. Heard on SSN that their wages are due on the 16th June as well but as that is a Sunday it would normally go in the Friday beforehand i.e. tomorrow. What were the penalties agreed for failing to pay players on time again?
  9. I wasn't actually sure if I could understand what Gray meant as his writing was very poor. Is he basically saying that because the SFA (and possibly SFL) have consistently lied to the clubs that this somehow excuses all the misleading by the SPL? That is some warped logic if it was what he meant.
  10. Every player that has ever scored a hat-trick for us.
  11. Good post but huge congratulations for managing to get Gordon Dalziel and logic together! That really cannot have been easy.
  12. I reckon we already have 17 players contracted for next season over 21 (Bell, Gallagher, Wallace, Cribari, Bocanegra, Goian, Perry, Faure, Argyriou, Black, Hutton, Law, Templeton, Shiels, Little, Daly, McCulloch) and Smith and Peralta would take that up to 19 when they officially sign. Ally saying he wants Alexander to re-sign and Goian/Bocanegra to stay as well as signing another 5 or 6 players doesn't add up unless there are quite a few leaving. Or if we won't be playing under SFL rules!
  13. I can only imagine he is talking about when they banned the BBC when he said that. Although most would probably say it was already far too late by time we chose to react to their bias.
  14. If you believe the Spanish press they say Atletico will be lucky to see £20million of the money from the Falcao deal. Most of the money apparently going to the 3rd party owners.
  15. Everybody here is assuming that Boca and Goian leaving will free up all their wages. They won't get paid that much anywhere else now though so I would expect that we might have to give them a pay off.
  16. I was trying to work out who Tim Clark was until I read your post!
  17. Maybe because Tiger was banging his step-daughter? http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/scottishnews/3480898/Tiger-Woods-seen-with-Ibrox-chiefs-stepdaughter.html
  18. Player was also the first client that Alistair Johnston signed up for IMG!
  19. We sold him and got Kevin Thomson for roughly the same amount of money. They were both about the same level I think.
  20. I am probably skeptical but I don't really think what a manager says in signing talks matters much anymore. Basically it all comes down to money in most occasions now. The modern day footballer is probably only interested in what the manager says if they have a couple of equal offers on the table. Ally has done well convincing all the players to sign for us in lower leagues but I honestly think if they had more lucrative offers elsewhere they would have taken them instead.
  21. He hasn't actually even left yet. He is still technically still in the job to the end of the month.
  22. If you factor in the wages saved from Sandaza and Kyle as well as Alexander, our wage bill after signing Law, Daly and Bell will probably still be quite a bit less than it was for most of this season.
  23. The training regime 30 years ago might well have been great at the time but the rest of the world has changed since then. Now it is outdated and not up to scratch. 30 years ago I had a top of the range TV. It was 28", colour and had just gotten a fourth channel. It was great back then but doesn't mean that I would be trading in my new flat screen with Sky HD for it now!
