Thank god that was on Kyle who can handle himself. Could have been a serious injury if that was McKay or MacLeod. -
Don't forget that he was responsible when the only ever strike by referees happened in this country and lied to foreign refs to get them to cover the strike!

Well I guess we won't be having any friendlies with Southampton or Villa anytime soon!

Even if we win the big tax case oldco would still owe about £40m to Ticketus and HMRC but it has practically no assets left. Why on earth would anyone consider paying millions for no assets?
-
So he expected that we would lose £10m this year.........but that was before most of our players left reducing our wage bill by £24m! And that was based on a projected 20% fall in season tickets......but we have actually had a small rise in sales this year. Our circumstances have changed so much since that was written it is barely applicable any more.

Fans Meeting With Charles Green At Ibrox
bs1982 replied to DarcheVinny's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Some people seem to hung up over the comment about not paying high transfer fees that we won't be able to get back. It doesn't mention "free agents" only. My interpretation is that it means we won't be paying fees for players approaching 30 with little sell on value. The signing of Templeton shows that they are prepared to pay fees (and it was a huge fee considering our current league position) if it is a young player who they are confident will improve and rise in value. -
Can't believe no-one has mentioned Jose Karl Pierre Fanfan! The worst defender I have ever seen.

Rod McKenzie has his red, sweaty hands all over this

Is this one from 2009/10 any good? Rules start on page 52. http://www.scotprem.com/content/mediaassets/doc/SPL%20Handbook%202009-10.pdf -
The most enjoyable thing so far this season for me has been the emergence of young players like Macleod and McKay, putting in performances that have often overshadowed that of their more established and senior team-mates. They have provided some much needed optimism for the future at the lowest point in our history but it is only actually because we are at rock bottom that they were given the opportunity in the first place. It would be naïve to think they would have played yet if we were in the SPL and had kept the majority of our squad from last season. With the lack of money in Scottish football the only sustainable model for us to progress is through youth development. The young players at our club this season have been given the greatest chance ever to establish themselves as first team players but in a few years time will the next batch of kids receive a similar opportunity? Probably not in all honesty as we will return to our old ways as we progress through the leagues. This cannot be allowed so I think now is the perfect time to set up a system where our youth will continuously get the same chances that have occurred this year! With all the talk of league reconstruction now seemingly inevitable in one guise or another I think we should propose keeping a team, Rangers B or such, in the lower leagues even after we return to the top league (whatever it may be called at the time). We are currently enjoying a good relationship with the SFL and their clubs have seen record crowds and been given a huge financial boost by our massive support. We should take advantage of the current goodwill amongst our “new friends” and ask for a Rangers B team to play in the 3rd Div next season which would be mutually beneficial for all parties. Youngsters would be able to get much needed game time from a young age and gain experience of playing in competitive games without as much pressure as they would in the first team where the boo boys in the crowd get on their back after one bad game. It is a format that works well in other countries – notably Spain where almost all of their World Cup winning squad started off in Barca B or Real B teams. SFL clubs would benefit from having far bigger crowds than normal and increased interest and possible sponsorship within the league. Crowds for B team away games would not be as big as for the first team this season but several thousand would still turn up to watch especially as many of our fans will never return to the homes of our enemies in the SPL so they can still enjoy an away day this way. If a B team are unable to gain promotion we would not be a threat to their own ambitions either like we are this season. Aside from our youngsters gaining experience if we started a B team, our coaching staff could also learn their trade at a less demanding level. There is much debate (and I don’t want to add to that here!) about Ally being inexperienced as a manager when he took over from Walter but if we had a B team any prospective future managers could take over that team first and prove themselves. This “apprenticeship” served Guardiola well when he transitioned from Barca B to the first team. This is something I believe should have happened years ago to benefit not just Rangers but also Scottish football on the whole. Now is the ideal time however with the goodwill of the SFL so I think it is imperative that this is included in any reconstruction talks. What does everyone else think of idea of having Rangers B team in the lower leagues in the future?

Funny how his blog is "obviously satirical" but the greatest satire of all - The Famine Song, made him and his daughter cry!

The 3 signings to be Announced ! Sourced for yees !
bs1982 replied to Dunny_01's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
That is a very good point about Edu. Even though he never played for us this season, by sticking around and eventually bringing in a fee we have been able to get a quality replacement. Puts some of the other former players to shame! I am very happy with the signings we have made but just imagine what the squad could have been like if they had all left for a transfer fee rather than deserting. -

Surely this isn't the same Lord Nimmo Smith that is chairing the hearing of dual contracts after Harper McLeods corrupt investigation?

I would love to see us play a quick passing game but I don't have a problem if Ally wants to play the long ball. What I do have a problem with, is playing it so poorly! Numerous managers have had success using that style of play but we are hopeless at it! Alexander was hitting it toward Mackay - the smallest player on the park. Bocanegra was punting it straight without even any angle which is the easiest thing in the world for a big guy to defend. If that is how Ally wants us to play his preparations for it have been shocking.

Looks quite smart................but a bit underwhelming to be honest after all the hype in recent weeks. -
The stories that Wenger won't spend big are completely untrue. The problem is that the board will not sanction enough wages. He would easily be willing to spend £30 million but any player worth that much expects about £200,000 a week which the board could probably afford but choose not to pay! Last summer they thought they had agreed a deal with Mata for about £24m but Chelsea came in and offered him considerably more which they just couldn't compete with. The big criticism of Wenger is that he isn't really prepared to buy many players in the lower value range - maybe five to ten million - where wages wouldn't be a problem because he doesn't believe they are any better than the kids he can bring through.

Alternative Media Source For Rangers Fans
bs1982 replied to truerangerfb's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
If it is going to work it has to actually be just for bears. Every other site mentioned gets infested with timposters so there would need to be better filtering. When the RFFF had the vote over which division we wanted to play in you had to enter your Rangers number for it to count. Something like this when you register would be good and only numbers that have actually been used to buy tickets or season tickets should be valid. -
One of the worst articles I have ever read! I thought the whole point of football was to put the best team you could afford on the park but we seem to be the only team in the world that gets criticized for doing just that!

I heard Shiels was excellent for NI a few days ago. Was he playing in that role for them?
