Winning the league cup is a non negotiable. Absolutely has to happen. Qualifying through the Europa group and trying to claw back to within respectable distance in the league. Naturally I would want to win the SC but wouldn't be priority compared to the other trophies at present.

He left in the November and the next guy (nor the guy after him) couldn't get a tune out of that squad. They went down with comfortably the worst squad in Southamptons recent history, and with arguably the worst squad in the PL. Neither of which can be lay at the door of Hussenhuttl given Southamptons selling of key players and lack of reinvestment back in to the playing squad.

He's by far the most senior player, it makes sense that he takes interim charge, not sure what or who people were expecting. We were hardly going to ditch Beale and put Banfield and the rest of his backroom team in charge. Albeit with this board I'm sure the thought crossed their mind. At least they've gone ahead and made the change and not just let it run until the international break.

He's a greeting faced bastard but I agree with his point. Transfer windows need to be applicable to all, a few hours difference to accomodate time difference etc is understandable but an additional three weeks where one nation can continue to sign or unsettle players isn't particularly sporting.

It doesn't benefit us if something is close, as it stands its safe to assume that either isn't the case and we want minutes in him as a contingency. Or like you suggest, suitors may be in attendance.

Arguement is still there but with a Euro qualifier round the corner, if anything happens to Butland I'd rather one of the other keepers had gotten some minutes. And I'd rather it was McCrorie than McLaughlin.
