I get really angry when threads go off-topic.

Me too. The bus driver could've waited. He could see that Mary was running late due to auld Archie giving his bingo winnings to the busker who used to be on Pop Idol.

I was about to write that I have a feeling it might be Rossiter. I can see Gerrard recognising a lot of the traits that Rossiter has shown us in the small glimpses we've had of him so far. He seems to have an old fashioned, traditional approach to the game. Hard working, shirt tucked in, no nonsense footballer who showed more than anyone on the park in the last league game away to Hibs that he could be a leader.

If he can come through pre-season strongly, he'd actually be my choice. I'm feeling positive that his injury hell is behind him.

  3. Classy and personal touch. I wonder how much of the offer for complimentary tickets comes from a place where he hopes that those sent a refund might choose not to cash the cheque. I feel a bit sorry for the club here, getting us in the cup is almost a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It's shite that counterfeit tickets have cost them.

  4. I've been fortunate enough to experience a variety of seats around the stadium, but for watching the game I'd always choose Govan Rear. My current ST seat is five rows back from the Bar72 section and mid-way between Broomloan end and halfway line. It isn't the cheapest, but it's worth the extra outlay for the cracking view.

With a present winning percentage of 58%, it seems we have a long way to go to reach your magic figure. In fact if my schoolboy arithmetic serves me right we could win every single game between now and the rest of the season (outwith OF) and our percentage would only be 76%.  Strangely enough the scum winning percentage at the moment is 95% and we're 19 (potentially 22 point adrift.   Or is this next year you mean?

I was meaning moving forward, not what's already gone. If we could win 95% of our remaining games this season (outwith OF) and give them a bit of a doing in one of the games then we'd be on the right road. Realistically it'd be next season. There should be no reason why we couldn't do that.

  6. Success has actually fuck all to do with how well the Scum are doing. All we need is to reach a decent level of consistency, have a couple of no nonsense footballers in the team to add to the flair and the rest will take care of itself. If we're winning 95% of our games outwith OF, the pressure will tell on them. If we're operating at that level, then OF games will be more unpredictable. The more that happens, the smaller the gap gets.

It won't take £10 Million to do that, never mind £100 Million.

  7. If Holt can prove his fitness, my starting 11 would be:

                                                   Foderingham

Tavernier                 Kiernan (or new CB)           Wilson              Wallace

                                                       Rossiter

                         Holt                        Krancjar                McKay (or Forrester)

                                        Garner              Miller

  8. I said in the transfer forum that I think that Warburton persisted with Wilson and Kiernan last year largely because they were permanent signings, and even with their errors were a good enough partnership for the Championship. Giving them a season to play together would have been about getting them ready for the premier league. Ball was there as a back up, and as such it would have been folly to play him as one half of the defensive partnership when the loan was always going to end at the end of the season.

People saying that he wasn't good enough to displace Wilson or Kiernan in defence have it wrong in my opinion. I'm aware that he never set the heather alight when he did play in defence, but he was decent, and there were glimmers of what he could do. Had he been given the chance to play there consistently, I'm confident he'd have been a really decent defender. Getting him on a permanent deal would be a great piece of business. :541:
