Watched him quite closely at the game today as he was in front of me for the first half. He had next to no mobility and was clearly in a lot of discomfort. No driving runs with the ball, no overlaps of the full back & then being outpaced easily defensively. We’re taking a massive gamble with him being on the park & that he doesn’t end up with a long term injury

The harsh reality is that as a support we are all talking about when he is sacked, and who his replacement will be. I can all but guarantee that those same conversations are not happening in the boardroom. The view will be that Europe was a ‘success’ by qualifying for the UCL, and we can’t compete at this level. We’re only 2 points behind them in the league so the title race is very much alive. Yet, it’ll come to no surprise to us when we eventually fall out of the title race over the coming months & have to sack him. We have a favourable run of fixtures through to the World Cup then an extended break where a new manager can get good time on the training pitch with the players. I’m not convinced any manager can get this squad to a title, but many will have a better chance than Gio. Up to the board.

Knutsen had a very good season at Bodo but his record outside of that has been terrible. I can see the attraction but it would be a massive gamble. 100%. You just need to look at how many times a Liverpool player and one of ours went shoulder to shoulder with one of ours they always won. Even their smaller guys like Elliot just bounced guys away. We lost our two main athletic guys in the summer and replaced them with the complete opposite. Absolutely bizarre.

I always felt Bennett was a cut above the other morons in the boardroom but starting to rethink that. A prolonged 17 minute car crash. To use the Napoli game as a justification for anything is wild, to do it twice is mind-boggling. It does mirror what I had been told previously though that the board, Wilson etc all believe this is a squad more than capable of winning the league and competing in Europe. Another bit of brilliance in there is him complaining about the reported transfer fees for players. Well the club briefed their poodles in the support what those fees were.
