  1. My dad was in the Royal Engineers with a certain Dave McKay. They both played in the regimental football team. McKay was a big Bluenose but held a grudge against the Board at Ibrox because a proposed move fell through and Big Dave's dreams were shattered. Sounds very similar to Browns situation. Incidentally Scott Brown has a PhD in Astro Physics.
  2. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that it could be Raith in both games.
  3. Always had my suspicions about the Broons. And the least said about Oor Wullie the better
  4. What a difference a day makes. Last nights performance and result, today's glad tidings from the East. Is this the break we have been waiting for ? It now means standards must rise, expectation replaced by the expected, no more feeling sorry for ourselves. We have a chance, a small chance, to show the world that we are on the way back. Incidentally, just bought the boy an st for the remainder of the season. £27. Excellent value. Fix Bayonets.
  5. I admire your optimism/naivety. Similar comments were made at the start of last season eg young team, football philosophy. unfortunately the reality was more akin to the football version of the Battle of Ypres. This season there has been a slight improvement. As for next season, I have no doubt we will win the league, but don't expect free flowing expansive football unless changes of seismic proportions are implemented.
  6. My first game was in 82. A 3-0 drubbing against an outstanding Aberdeen team. "Greig must go" was a frequent chant. As a young boy I enjoyed going to the games irrespective of how big the crowd was or how good the team was. Looking back and bearing in mind the standard of competition, there is little comparison to today's situation apart from having a club legend as a manager......and look what happened to Greig.
  7. Does any of the London Brethren know if the Ayr United game will be shown on the 15th February . Down for the weekend to the " Big Smoke" as I believe it's called. AAAAV IT !!!!!!
  8. I have a solution to Hearts predicament. A fan, preferably a farmer, could build a football stadium on one of his fields in the hope that dead Lithuanian football greats could return and help them fight the impending relegation. It's a long shot I know, but it could work.
  9. Ask for Kenny in the Vic. Bus will leave approx 1.30. Place will be full of Bears. Regards The Loyal Royal Burgh
  10. The Admiral top evokes memories of Terry Hurlock
  11. The league was won when we were condemned to work our way through the lower ranks. The target this year is a 100% winning record. It is achievable.
  12. Was in the "wee Dublin" end that day with my Dad. If I remember correctly Morton bought the seats of Rangers. Incidentally it was named the wee Dublin end as back in the day the street behind that stand was frequented by immigrants. I also remember a 3-3 draw in the Scottish Cup around that time at Scapa Flow. Beat them convincingly in the replay.
  13. Ye. Fair point. In particular this so called "god particle". Keep religion out of football.
  14. Was in Vegas at the start of the month. Got in touch with them prior to leaving. They didn't get back to me.
  15. Cooperative Group have just posted pre tax losses of 559 million.

  17. Got a fit of the giggles with this post. Tremendous
  18. That sounds like a cunning plan Blackadder. Only one problem. For every cunning plan there's always one Baldrick and in Rangers case a boardroom full of them.
  19. I'm a dinosaur. Hear me ROOOOAAAR !!!!! AAARRRRGGGGHHHH !!!!!!!!
  20. Apparently Rooney is " angry and confused ". These feelings are perfectly normal when your learning to tie your shoelaces.
