Which SFL club/clubs didn't welcome Rangers
stevenray201 replied to socrates's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Here we go again. Rehashing this is very tiresome. If we could only go back in time, wouldn't it be nice? If only someone in the SPL had half a clue ? To get what they wanted the SPL should have administered a 50 point penalty for liquidation . They already gave Rangers a 10 point penalty for going into administration. There have always been good at making up rules as they go.( Kind of like primary school kids on the playground). This way Rangers would have been sent down to the First Division and would be looking to be back in August. Reminds me of the "Wizard of Oz". If they only had a brain ? Sad thing is I don't see the SPL any passing reconstruction just so they can have their SPL 2 by invitation. -
Seems like an excellent idea for development purposes for both clubs. Juve is in a much tougher league than any in Scotland. There are going to be more deals like this with the FFP rules going in to effect. There will be fewer and smaller transfer fees after next year. Only the biggest clubs will be able to buy players and even they will have to show their finances.

Earliest date the league can be wrapped up?
stevenray201 replied to Oso's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Magic number to clinch division is 21 points. Have to guess March 16th away @ Elgin City. Would prefer a home clinch but that would mean Queen's Park would fall apart and I don't see that happening. They have the most attractive style of play of any of the division teams. -
Charles green - reconstruction statement
stevenray201 replied to RFC55's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Anyone else feeling this is just another screw Rangers plan ? As it would be only third division winner gets the shaft. First division winner moves up, second division winner moves up and third division winner just gets screwed. Again, it really only affects Rangers. If this goes thru, I would hope all bears would boycott all away parks. I would raise home ticket prices up to help keep the dregs out and raise more money for Rangers. Just my opinion.... -
Can't Rangers apply to join England

I'd like to see an expiration date for threads. Don't mind a necessary bump now and again but this was bad. -

"Motherwell got robbed ticket money"
stevenray201 replied to WilliamFyfe's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Maybe the guy was right. Oh wait , Ibrox had an attendance of 29,413 and the other 7 fixtures drew 30,413 combined. It only makes sense that Rangers were undercounting the numbers. Everyone knows it was the only match that mattered. After my own rainman impersonation , I'm puzzled by the difference of exactly 1000 tickets sold. -
Why Aberdeen ? And why away ? Do you live there ? Rangers at Ibrox against whomever dares to show up should always be the choice IMO.

Always a home tie for me. All those bears in the stands is truly amazing. It's on Tuesday 30 Oct or Wednesday 31 Oct.

Player Ratings: Rangers 2-0 Motherwell
stevenray201 replied to Broxi's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Ive been smilin so big after the match it hurts. And just think what it will be like when Templeton and Little return. Also , major props to the whole squad. Most people forget how difficult it has been for them. To be thrown together like they were, with some havent even been training for a while plus all the expectations to deal with. Great Job. -
Have to agree Big Lee deserves so much credit. I too have not given him credit for what he brings to the table. His effort is always amazing. I had been saying he needed a break but when you have a guy willing to run thru walls for the team , you have to let them run wild. Great job LEE!!!!

Occasionally it happens. Kind of a battle between the ADD lads starting 15 threads for one topic and the OCD bears like me trying to keep a little order. -
fans let down yet again by rangers
stevenray201 replied to rangersxfc's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Agreed. It seems to me CG has been playing his cards fine. Keeping it close to the vest and stirring things up when needed. Not sure if the SPL and SFA can really fathom the potential financial liability they could be looking at. Werent the administrators court appointed and to change the terms of the purchase would change the value of the deal. Both the value at the time and future financial impacts would be changed considerably. -

Maybe so, but I've been in retail for over 25 years and to have the Ranger brand as a revenue engine I would say it's very achievable. I was looking at all potential revenue lost for the last 3 games. 20k tickets on Tuesday. 50k for semifinal (QOS got the home game). And then a potential 60k attending the final at Hampden. Thats 130k x 6 (my rough estimate share of ticket)= 780k. Add in other misc. income . Parking, Food/Drink, Hospitality, programs, and I know I'm missing some stuff. I would think that the Rangers megastore would be packed selling anything not nailed down. i know last time I went to Red Bull Arena here by me , my kid got a jersey , ball , scarf and a couple other trinkets . So even a T-shirt at 15 per unit would probably sell 5000 units. Thats another 40k with a minimal 60% softline gp. Also programs, how many are sold per match and at what price. I'm sure the extra 70k ibrox attendees would buy them up. I know I've missed other items , but it still could have been possible IMO for what it's worth.

Wish I could have gotten the info on this earlier. I would have liked to attend the New York meeting. Just hate going in to the City, but I would for that.
